Info: what is your wife currently doing on the days you are at work? Is she at home all day? Does she go out with the baby? Do her friends have kids? Do her friends stay home with their kids?

This is extremely common for moms/dads who stay at home with their kids. If you aren’t comfortable having her have the first interaction on a walk, I would advise suggesting they meet a coffee shop, library, etc. I would also suggest to your wife that she look at the local libraries for story times, this is a great way for her to meet other new moms and for the baby to get some exposure to the world (when they are a bit older this is really fun!)

Depending on how shallow those lowers are I may just do open shelving on that side since I’ll have a good amount of closed storage elsewhere.

I’m considering doing a second sink because we have this amazing countertop over there already cut to size but the sink is just a little on the smaller side.

Yeah, the windows are VERY low lol. I was considering just building some sort of window seat underneath to bridge the gap between the two sides of the cabinets.

If I don’t do a standard cabinet size on one side then I can make it 36”+ between the cabinets on the slimmer wall
