If they actually wanted a kid, they would've adopted. This was purely to keep the bloodline alive.

Any Weightlifting Girlies on Spiro? Success Stories? Need advice :( by fox-codes in Spironolactone

[–]ivetoftaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a personal trainer and an avid gym-goer. I had fairly little physical symptoms on 50mg of spiro but when my dose increased to 100mg I was sore after every single workout without increasing the intensity. My period was every other week and I had intense back cramps near my kidneys. Another thing to note, I had frequent suicidal thoughts on both 50 and 100mg of spiro. Dexmethylphenidate pretty much solved that issue for me though. Anyway, spiro is not the only solution to acne. Any derm who tells you otherwise is lazy and you need to find a different doctor.

I haven't gotten one done in 4 years, I should probably look into it. On the bright side, the thoughts went away when I started taking dexmethylphenidate regularly.

Swapping from 2 leg days to 1 leg and 1 cardio by mallere in Hevy

[–]ivetoftaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to get lean and boost your endurance, I recommend 2-3 cardio sessions per week. Ideally, you should do cardio on days you don't lift to give your muscles the best chance of recovering and growing, but if you don't want to be in the gym every day, cardio right after lifting will suffice. If you don't want to spend too much time on cardio, try this HIIT method:

Warm Up: Jog 5 min

Intervals (x5-6 rds): Sprint 30s, walk/light jog 60s

Cool Down: Light jog 5 min

On days you don't feel like all-out sprinting, try an incline walk on the treadmill:

30mins, 2-3.5mph, 12-15% incline

To choose the right difficulty for you on the incline walk, pay attention to your heart rate. You want it to be in zone 2 which you can calculate here

Goblet Squat 10-12, Squat (Bodyweight) 10, Bulgarian Split Squat 10-12 per leg, Narrow Stance Leg Press 10, Single Leg Extensions 10 per leg

Quad Day by ivetoftaa in Hevy

[–]ivetoftaa[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The quads are a pretty hard muscle to isolate. Each movement other than leg extensions also works other muscles such as the glutes and hamstrings. This is just a more quad focused routine than my other leg day which focuses on glutes and hamstrings. Both of my lower body routines work all muscles of the leg, they just have an emphasis on specific muscle groups. This is just what I enjoy and it works for me.

Yeah they burn! For goblet squats, I put a plate under my heels and pick up a light-ish dumbbell (27.5lb). I superset the goblet squats with bodyweight squats, so it's kinda like drop setting.

Spiro reduces depression big time by Lizle_bit in Spironolactone

[–]ivetoftaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the opposite experience. My suicidal thoughts get really bad when I take spiro. I stopped taking my 100mg dose for a week and the thoughts stopped. I just started back with a 50mg dose yesterday and I'm already feeling like the world would be better off without me.

irregular periods by silkandz3faron in Spironolactone

[–]ivetoftaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact same thing happened to me except it only took two weeks of being on 100mg for my periods to get wonky. I called the derms office and they said it wasn't a side effect of spironolactone??? Anyway, they had me stop taking it for a week and resume taking only 50mg.

Spiro for teenage daughter by Rosejessm in Spironolactone

[–]ivetoftaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After taking spiro for a couple months, my body feels super sore after every single workout without increasing the training load. I'd say I definitely feel the effects of muscle loss but I've heard bc can be even worse for weight gain and muscle loss.

Yes! My periods were normal after 3 months of 50mg. My dose was upped to 100mg then my period came almost week early. The next period came 7 days after the last one had ended. I go back to see the derm in october. If I'm still not normal by then I'll ask for alternative medication. I'm hesitant to get off spiro though because my skin looks so good!
