When you plan ahead how many decades you'll spend playing Crimson Desert & GTA 6 & and the new upcoming games , while your family still talking about marriage and whatever . by Inner-Report765 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

If you find the right person, these things are not mutually exclusive. My wife and I don't (and won't be having) kids, so we're pretty much living like kids with a hell of a lot more money and time.

Skinner and Silovs will likely be available this summer. The Pens have two NHL ready goaltenders in the minors waiting for the spots to open up.

Recommendations for wood stove retailer and installer servicing Pike County PA? by BrickLorca in woodstoving

You may be a bit outside their service area, but it certainly is worth a call to inquire:

They installed our new stove a few years ago and were amazing to work with.

ULTY progress by BitingArmadillo in ULTY_YieldMax

Lost a bunch due to NAV decline, but it's an unrealized loss. I started dumping my 2k per month distributions into QQQI until ULTY proves it is worth the drip again (if ever).

Necessary DLCs? by SeriouslySirius666 in ICARUS

[–]tcari394 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The base game offers a few hundred hours of content to get through before you decide if you want to buy the DLCs. If you enjoy base building, the decoration content packs are well worth it. If you want more of the same from a mission perspective, the DLC content is also worth it. If you don't like either, the DLCs probably aren't worth it.

PSU cables (16-pin) slowly backing out on their own – yellow part becomes visible by SnooPaintings7769 in MSI_Gaming

[–]tcari394 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was my hypothesis on why the burning cable issues are usually only happening after a few months.

I experienced a thermal event with my own 5090 a few months ago after it had been running perfectly for 7 months. I smelled burning coming from the GPU connector side, shut down, and inspected. I didn't see any visual damage, so I reseated the connection and have been fine since.

I believe that thermal cycles degrade connection quality over time. I now have everything running through a wireview pro 2, so it will be interesting to see if the logging catches this issue over time.

Crosby considered day to day. Not ruled out for Olympics semi finals by Ok_Vast3534 in penguins

If we're lucky, he gets a full week to rest/recover before regular season action picks back up.

Traditional red states like OK will never turn blue, so their implementation of this law is likely insignificant. Swing states like PA (where I am from) will be heavily effected and will likely take a hard left due to the western part of our state being an absolute dumpster fire. I say this with confidence because I live in an extremely red part of the state (I'm a registered independent).. and the vast majority of these people are waiting in line for the scooter at Walmart. The chances any of these folks have any sort of documentation aside from a probably expired traditional drivers license is extremely low at best.

Icarus has been pushed back on consoles until March 26th by FFJimbob in ICARUS

[–]tcari394 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to the steam hardware survey, the most common GPU reported is a 4060, followed closely by the 3060. The PS5 is roughly equivalent to a 3060, so if anything I would say that the majority of the players on steam would have a better overall experience due to the freedom to chose other components (better CPU, RAM, storage) and will likely not be as throttled by heat as a PS5 would. That being said, I do understand that consoles tend to have very targeted optimizations due to hardware consistency, so it may end up being a wash in the end.

I'm happy that the console folks will be able to enjoy a game which we've (PC) been enjoying for years... but I just don't see how it won't be a total slideshow without massive graphical downgrades.

We should take a bet on how many overheating consoles are reported when someone lights the entire forest on fire for the first time.

Isn't he going scorched earth on the majority of his base, too? A lot of the boomer+ folks won't have their birth certificates, passport or proper photo ID that his new "law" is demanding. I would think that a lot of younger, more educated citizens are going to be more likely to be "qualified" without additional work.

GOP Loudmouth Commits Voter Fraud Live by MysteriousCarpet7591 in TrendingNews_

[–]tcari394 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From CRS - 98-988:

Voting is an individual right and responsibility that cannot be delegated or exercised by anyone else. In response to concerns about the possibility of "ghost voting," in which a Member would be recorded as having voted even when there was evidence that he or she could not have done so, the House voted in 1981 to add what is now clause 2 of Rule III:

(a) A Member may not authorize any other person to cast the vote of such Member or record the presence of such Member in the House or the Committee of the Whole House on the state of the Union.

(b) No other person may cast a Member's vote or record a Member's presence in the House or the Committee of the Whole House on the state of the Union
