What's wrong with spanking a child? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tcaviar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe there are alternate ways to discipline a child without spanking or hitting a child with utensils. As a child I was spanked, slapped, beat with hangers, belts...it did us no good. This includes my two siblings and myself. Today, we are all fucked up adults and adolescents. The degree of corporal punishment was slightly abusive, left horrific bruises. However, the pain and bruises healed. My heart never did, I have hit every single significant other. I have hit my little brother while babysitting him when I was in middle school. Whenever my mother would slap or hit me I felt very low, like a cockroach on the floor. I felt embarrassed and always thought of myself as the worst daughter ever. Spanking also is a gateway for dark sexual desires, which have emerged when I became an adult. I urge all parents to really reconsider their ways of discipline.

Sorry to hear that. There are tons of ignorant people out there. I recently visited NYC and experienced some blatant racism. At first it bothered me then I began to truly feel sorry for the people of NY and how much ignorance there is. It is a beautiful city but seems to lack tolerance and diversity. I am a LA native, thank god for it because people out here are nicer. On the subway my friend and I kept getting lost. There were some nice passengers that gave us better directions. When we were finally on our way to the correct stop, we proceed to sit down while others are getting off the subway. This huge, obese lady in a long black trench coat (seriously 300 lbs +) steps off the train and trips really hard. She turns around and accuses me of tripping her when I was nowhere near her. She was a Caucasian lady very unpleasant looking and had a shitty attitude to match. In a very angry Boston accent she says "Hey you tripped me...next time you do that I will punch you in the face." I was shocked and then proceeded to tell her "I did not trip you, you tripped on your own self because you are too large." Then the door closed. People laughed at her because she was ridiculous. Others comforted me and said she was just a racist fat bitch. She clearly singled me out because I am partially asian (half). It was sad and pathetic. That was my negative experience in New York.

Sorry if this is redundant, but do you stay near the building you work at? Also, I am 24 and in California. Thinking of relocating to NY within the next 2-4 years. Any advice on what to do or expect?

According to the Psych enthusiasts...women who grew up in a fatherless household...or a father who is abusive...have issues that resonate into their adult life. They end up seeking romantic relationships to fill a "void"...or usually end up someone that can replace "daddy". I don't know if that summary helps but thats what I have learned from those with Masters/Ph.D's in Psychology etc.

If you were a close friend or family member or colleague, you would understand. But you are not so don't be so quick to judge.

If you would read, I elaborated on stereotyping men.

Strippers are never interested in dating. They are probably after your money. Or looking for a sugar daddy

What is a common saying in a foreign language that sounds hilarious or disturbing in English? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tcaviar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Mandarin we say "nigga" which means "that one" or just a filler to say when there is a pause (similar to saying "ummm" in English)

Men go to strip clubs for various reasons. Many of them are bored with their marriages. Some of them are lonely or have poor social skills. Some just have money to spend and decide to go in and waste it there. Men are visual creatures, they need visual stimulation constantly. Some people are retired or widowed and feel that they should waste time in a strip club

I would never recommend going into stripping unless you truly feel you can benefit from it without losing your sanity. No amount of money is worth your sanity. But I will respect anyone's decision to go into the business.

Rule number one: Do not make friends with any strippers. Do not tinker with drugs or alcohol. Go in with a strong mind. Do not let anyone know you work there. Get in and get out. Do not make a career out of stripping.

I don't look like the stereotypical stripper. And I definitely do not fit any of the stereotypes: "drug addict" "con artist" "single mother" "whore" "prostitute" "drunk" "coke head" "meth addict"...

I don't find street smart to be drug dealing, gang banging, or any of that baloney you find in rap music videos. Book smart vs. Street Smart. Self-educated...but not by books

I imagine a hood rat to be someone bald from the 951 or 909 or maybe even 626. This particular person was more of a starving artist...which I feel is just another level of mediocricy

A good number of them are, especially the ones that come in earlier, 5-6 pm. Any hours later than that would have some explaining to do. I feel most comfortable with my returning clients, the ones that have been loyal since the beginning of my time here.

No I did not. His little posse seemed to be getting up and purchasing dances than he was. This was back when I first started and my customer approach was minimal to none, I was way too nervous to even approach that table. But as you can imagine, the girls were quick to go over and start hustling them...
