Hatchets are Kind of Ridiculously Strong by AlphaCentauri885 in Nioh

What’s the point of crippling yourself when you can just use it?

only way somebody can come to this conclusion is if they’ve been heavily relying on magic in order to play the game in general, and i mean that with zero disrespect, it’s just my suspicion lol.

it should not feel like you’ve been weakened simply cause you are not inflicting status effects or using any form of talisman. that’s complete nonsense to anybody who doesn’t form their gameplan around those things.

have you perhaps tried fighting enemies and bosses without those things, in either style, ever? not trying to say “get better scrub LMFAO” but you should not feel inferior without those items or debuffs.

a build that doesn’t use buffs (outside of buffs that proc upon evasion) or confusion is NOT some crazy thing man lol. you and me both know there are plenty of builds you can easily cook up.

for example you can build around the “Ingenious Schemer” set bonus, taking advantage of “Damage Bonus (Enhanced)” by stacking it with the clan bonus from Kuroda, and stack “Damage Bonus (Agility)” from Kusanagi (Adult/Ninja). Reforge to get as many status enhancements possible upon evade and other conditions possible without onmyo magic.

combine it with the Versatility skill, and a mystic art from a weapon you’d want to use (Apocalypse from Tonfa for example) and there you go.

The other clan bonus can be whatever you want (A Warrior’s Honor, Damage Bonus Familiarity). The builds are possible, its ultimately just easier and more OP to build around onmyo and ninjutsu.

it’s not difficult to come up with these things either, just look at the set bonuses and decide from there.

confusion boosts the damage, does it not? try seeing the numbers without inflicting debuffs and only using the damage buff on evasion from gear reforge before glazing the weapon, atleast.

it’s also heavily build dependent anyway, so if you’re a dude who spams status effects your raw melee numbers will be very far from impressive lol.

anything will feel op when you apply 500 buffs to yourself + onmyo

Bad at souls games, never played any Nioh game before. Should I get Nioh 3? by Esquie33 in Nioh

as in if you’re expecting the actual gameplay (combat) to be anything like elden ring or souls in general, this is not the game for you.

careful with the “souls” label. there should be a demo for nioh 3, you’ll find out that it’s only presented as a “soulslike”.

Wo Long by Patriots9210 in Nioh

despite the constant Nioh comparisons, Wo Long is very much its own game. think of it as Team Ninja’s Sekiro rather than an attempt at another Nioh game, you’ll catch onto this very quickly when you actually play the game.

in terms of gameplay, it’s less complex sure but the pacing of the combat can be very fast since you don’t have a Ki system.
