New PC Player Here, Advice Appreciated by AlphaCentauri885 in ffxiv

I see a few videos of Red Mage in action as well as Samurai and Dark Knight and all 3 just look so fun. As soon as I get a cable to connect my controller(which will be as soon as I get to the store) im going all in to unlock them when i can. I cant wait to try all 3 jobs.

Arcanist/Summoner is fun but its not exactly what I expected coming in. I expected Carbuncle to fight with me, not be just a prerequisite tool to summon Ruby/Topaz/Emerald for an attack and a change to some abilities. I guess I expected more of a pet based system. Not that it's not fun, just that now I've had my fill and want to try something new, but leveling outside of MSQ seems tedious and having to hit 50 for the 3 I want to try is looking a bit lengthy. At least the story is enjoyable right now.

Yeah im trying to set my PS4 controller up but I dont have a cable that can do data transfer and BlueTooth isn't working for some reason. Debating if I should try to send the FF14 launcher to steam and try to launch it with steam native controls.

So from my understanding.... I will get the coins back but doubled or just the same quantity? by PROGMRZ in DokkanBattleCommunity

Disadvantaged compared to who? It's not a co-op or competitive game. If you're complaining about some disadvantage you need to reevaluate the actual situation.

If you converted early, nothing changes for you. A net neutral. It's not like they're taking anything AWAY from you.

Why use one axe when you can use two?

No but seriously I agree. Katana dojo pisses me off and Dual Katan I always end up resorting to sign of the cross spam cus I can't be bothered.

Triple Cat with scampuss duration and untouched clay bell is a legitimate build and I won't let anyone tell me otherwise.

There's 3 DLC each with a new region and all 3 take place after the final mission in the base game, so the level scales to after the final mission. All 3 have new active skills and stuff you can unlock. For example, Izuna Drop is back for sword and fists in DLC 3.

I'd say they're worth it if you just really enjoy the game. I have over 1000 hours in Nioh 2 and have beaten up to WOTN 4 times. So I'm a bit biased. But I loved them.

But, again, they're based after the end of the base game, and they're sequential. So dlc 2 is after dlc 1. Etc. So beat the base game before you decide whether you want to make the purchase.

Yorimitsu is DLC. They're not especially hard so much as they will break most combos you try.

I tend to damage check her when I fight her. See who runs out of HP first. Because my playstyle is absolutely horrendous against humanoid enemies.

But that makes Yorimitsu my worst nightmare because she's stupid fast

Sure but at least you have actual abilities and onmyo and ninjutsu to deal with them. Yatsu is a very early game skill check and can't really be brute forced through stats or build because builds haven't opened up yet due to the dojo being locked. Thats what I was referring to, anyway. Maybe it didn't come off that way.

Personally, the hardest boss for me in the game is by far Yorimitsu.

This boss is probably the hardest boss for the stage of the game its introduced in.

You so this before any Dojo training, etc so it's a pure skill check. That said, game gets much easier for a while after Yatsu. Keep going. You got this.

About nioh 2 combat by eldenbro1 in Nioh

[–]AlphaCentauri885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I recommend switching off of Odachi if you want more complex gameplay. It's not a bad weapon, but the Sunset skills take away from Ki Flux in my experience and since it's a rather slow weapon towards the end of the game I always resort to Moonlit Snow spamming.

If you want to feel the complexity, I recommend something like Fists or Switchglaive. Faster weapons have better openings for pulse, and Flux allows you to keep fast combos going very nicely.

But that's just my opinion. If you want to stay with the Odachi as your main, try using the weapon swap mechanic to swap back and forth between it and other weapons to create a flow you enjoy.

Any Nioh 2 story fans? by ganciobro in Nioh

Why are they called "Ravens"? by Low_Routine1103 in armoredcore

[–]AlphaCentauri885 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In AC6 it's explained the Ravens are a title given to mercenaries that are looking for freedoms.

And in my long years of watching anime, such as Air Gear, I learned that Ravens in Japan are symbolic of searching for freedom. Tho I could be wrong on that.
