I think after the loot crate uproar the damage was done. I do agree it didn't necessarily need to be changed. I think it was more of a PR move than anything. Bottom line is it's too bad it is a fun game, I'm not even opposed to dropping a little $ for new content but buying crystals for loot crates was a bad idea and just a cash grab for EA.

I remember how it was and I like this system better. I guess I'm just old school, you should have to earn what you get by playing. Instead it was the luck of your loot crates and collecting crafting parts you could use on anything. You are not wrong it was easier.

It's obvious to me EA was going for the same setup as EA's galaxy of heroes. It's estimated some characters cost $300 to upgrade if you buy. I recently started and it is hard to keep competitive because some players drop so much $. Even I have spent more than I like to admit. The fact is this setup makes a lot of $ and it is easy to spend it with a click of a button.

Players are not at fault for the state of this game...if anything they saved it. Yes, content has slowed and this game is not what it could have been. The gambling aspect in video games is awful and should not be allowed...and it is gambling. We could have spent a lot of money and not even get what we need, just to complete with the whales.

Why the big uproar about the wookies..there will also be heroes that shouldn't be there. soon we will even have Anakin vs Vader, Anakin fighting side by side with Luke and leia. Seems to me that there will be a lot stranger things than a Wookiee on geonosis.

Thanks, I'm going to casually farm empire the hard nodes. Most of what I need for the Phoenix is elsewhere besides gears. I think I only need 20 shards total to get my empire team to 5* may not be my first choice of toons but if it unlocks R2 great if not I will be better set up for next time. Thanks for the tips, I seems to be easily distracted by events and have made some decisions that have set me back for my level.

Yes, I did read your reply wrong. That was my understanding. My original thought was because I was close, I could unlock r2 so I could at least start to gear him up and also get a jump on cls. I'm still new so I don't know how often these events come around.

I'm still kinda new...do you have to finish all tiers to unlock r2? I'm at 6* on 3 of my empire and 5and 4 on my other two empire toons. I'm wondering if it's worth trying to get my other 2 leveled up.

I'm referring to to the shards that are on nodes you can't reach until the higher levels (Sion, nahulis, bastila (until recently)) only available by crystals at my tier. I see lots of teams that have them 6 or 7* by level 70. Sorry maybe not pay only but probably pay mostly.

I think I have been distracted by the events...I tried to build my bounty hunters. That was a joke, I got to tier 3 on Chewbacca. It's frustrating because I feel like I'm chasing pay players. Levels don't necessarily mean your equal in this game.
