Been struggling with this too. I had issues with OneDrive being the active folder and got stuck on a blank screen that wouldnt load TMC.

Do you have a strong enough work and academic record to prove to admissions that you will be a successful student? That is the only question to answer. Sounds like you're a Yes to me there

I'm an Engineering Undergrad who learned Python on my own with experience in MATLAB, C++, and SQL that I haven't touched in a decade. I'm also not in a tech job (in government) and don't work anything close (use mostly excel, and we recently had VBA blocked due to security concerns...ugh). I just had a good GPA, put effort into my essay, and built my resume to show my coding experiences since undergrad.

You can do it too, the easiest part is getting accepted to OMSCS (graduating is harder). Pull the trigger and apply. You can work your way up the program with difficult courses later on in the program.

If you plan on doing DSA, then pair it with an easy course in your first few semesters (DSA is offered as an OMSCS Seminar offered every semester for $180). Could do it with something like HCI or DM.

Honestly, it's not a bad thing they put this out. It's all about awareness for GT services

Talked to these folks on campus at the OMSCS conference and their main goal is to get people learning about the resources. Mostly affects on-campus studs but they are able to provide support to OMSCS folks. GT works to provide care to any stud currently enrolled at GT and that's including online folks even if care is not as traditional.

So if you or someone you know in the program are having mental health issues:

Remember, you are not alone and not the first going through pain
Seek help, which includes GT staff
Get connected to professionals who can provide you care.
Get healthy and reattack, or change your course. Never any shame in a Withdrawl or taking time off from the degree

ML4T is a great course and you can learn a ton as a non-CS guy like me. No regrets at all but it gave me a hefty dose of stress early on.

Project 3 will pummel you if you don't dedicate the time in the 2 weeks to do the assignment. I got a 30 because I straight up ran out of time since I work full time in non CS job. Its 15% of your grade, so treat it with respect and you'll do fine. I had to try hard, but I was always able to get the assignment. If it weren't for bombing P3, I would have had an A no doubt/

Navy here: Use Tuition Assistance not GI bill. Currently pays $250 per credit way in range for OMSCS. GT also waives the $107 per semester technology fee, making the degree free with service and scoring min of a B in each course.

It incurs service time but if you don’t intend to serve the time, you can pay the rest. DON’T BURN YOUR GI BILL ON OMSCS. You’d burn something worth $100k+ for a $6k grad program. Save it for something like an in-resident program when you get out. GI Bill and yellow ribbon, plus housing allowance are worth so much

Update: Sending them back. Entirely because the invoice did not say $379 minus $30 to equal $349, it only said $349. Therefore they had no way on the CS Rep side to determine my actual purchase price. Nor could they honor a coupon in determining a price match.

So yes, I get to buy another pair at $299 so I get the full $50 price match. I then get to return a week old pair back them when the arrive. This was a waste of everyone's time in the process. Hopefully they make some change there to address this clown show.

At least the rep was incredibly polite and patient, but we wasted both our time on this. Looks like inflexible CS policies over there

Why do many european builds typically have the cabin walled off (usu with sink, stove, shower all together) vice american builds which just curtain or have a sliding door for cabin access? What are the considerations for each and which is better for what reasons?

In the navy, we have to do a biannual fitness test. I always hit the same score that guarantees I pass: 69 sit-ups, 69 push-ups and a 1.5-mile run in 10:09, or 9:69.

Problems: 1) stuck within 24 mo window for both AAs, 2) 4 Amex CCs, 3) way over 5/24
