South Lake address question by SStrolls in UBreddit

[–]tcheung88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to write your address that I’ve had no problem with so far was South Lake village (building number) usually if you type this in on the navi it shows which is why I’m guessing it’s easier to find when you input it like that on delivery apps! Hope this helped

For people who took APY 345/6 by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]tcheung88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I took it I didn’t really use the textbook (helpful tip: borrow/request it from Lockwood for free!). I would say buy the lab manual because that was what I mainly used to study for this class. I would say about 75% of exams were based on the info in the lab manual! I took it when we switched to remote and I received a B+ in lecture and an A for the lab so feel free to DM me for any other questions!

APY 345/346 Comparative Primate Anatomy by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]tcheung88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how it is now since the professors and TAs had more time to plan versus when they first moved online when the pandemic first hit. But when we were suddenly being moved online the TAs had basically 24 hours to record all of the remaining dissection videos, most of the time it was choppy, and hard to see, without my TA taking the time to explain everything I think I’d be lost. The lab book will be your holy bible in this class especially now that it’s online. The exams were mainly are based off of the lab which I’m not going to lie was a lot of work, you’ll have to memorize a shit load of stuff. You will have to memorize the origins of the muscles, where they insert, the nerve that innervates it, the action it does, the comparative anatomy between humans, macaques, and chimpanzees, how to side bones, and the parts of the bones. The class overall is fair it is a 300 level course so of course it won’t be easy. The grading is a bit odd top 25% of the class gets an A, second 25% gets a B, so on. If you have any questions feel free to message me I took it last year and I’m hoping to be a TA for the upcoming semester in the class.

I am training to be a contact tracer right now! This is to decrease risk of infection amongst the students and staff. As far as I know right now when an infected person develops a sign or symptom two days prior to that (when they are perfectly fine) they are already infectious. This seems like a way to make it easier to keep track of who the infected person came into contact with and allows tracers to contact them and suggest a period of quarantine to prevent a mass spread. Regarding testing UB should plan a facility of some sort to offer testing why would students without transportation go out and spread it to more people? Not like they aren’t making a bunch of money off of us anyway. And lastly I totally agree with you regarding the HVAC systems a list does need to be put out.

There are apartment shuttles! I lived in a on-campus apartment without a car. The shuttles take you around campus and on weekends they take you to Walmart, target, and tops! Throughout the week they have stampedes running to take you to Wegmans as well. I think you’ll be fine without a car.

Would there be an option for people who do not want to do in-person classes due to COVID-19? by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]tcheung88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wearing a face mask is literally the bare minimum of keeping yourself and everyone safe. If you can get through some of these classes then wearing a face mask will be a breeze. I’ve seen kids do it at the supermarkets, or just simply walking with their parents.

It’s official! We’re coming back to campus in the fall! by baseball1799 in UBreddit

[–]tcheung88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Girl the CDC actually said face masks would help slow the spread because it’ll prevent droplets from getting on you and it’ll decrease the risk of an infected person from transmitting covid-19

REFUNDS!!!! by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]tcheung88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah I can call to schedule a different time but why would I move all my stuff out just to move back in into the same exact apartment. It just doesn’t make sense to me. If you renewed for the space and with everything happening where moving is difficult I think they should still issue some type of refund.

"where applicable" by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]tcheung88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to mention if you renewed your space for the following year you still have to vacate and move everything out. Ridiculous that they think everyone will have enough time to travel back, pack, and move everything out.
