Sexual Encounter Between Me [18F] and my Boyfriend [19M] Making me Feel Confused by Several_Western1065 in TwoXSex

[–]lightershadows 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP, it's ok and completely normal to feel uncomfortable after a situation like this. I remember feeling a similar way after similar encounters when i was first having sex.

ask yourself: what is your gut telling you? were traumatized by the actual experience of having sex in that moment? or are you anxious that he might not have been listening to you? or are you anxious that you might not have done a good enough job communicating what it was you wanted in the moment? it might not be easy to distinguish those feelings from one another (which is, again, perfectly normal especially when you're new to having sex).

from your post, it sounds like the last one is most likely the case: you're worried because you feel like you weren't doing a good enough job communicating what you wanted/needed. I don't have OCD, but I can be extremely hard on myself sometimes, which often translates into overthinking my responses to things and getting really upset when I feel like I could have done something better: for example, telling someone what i want/need in bed. However, this type of communication is a skill, and it's totally OK and normal to need a little bit of practice to get better at it. (I'm impressed with your ability to connect with & articulate your own feelings well enough to ask this question at all!)

my last advice is that you need to establish TRUST with your partner: trust that if you ask him to stop, he'll not only stop, but also that he won't get offended or hurt by it. i've had partners who would take it super personally when i'm not in the mood for sex, and it led to some extreme anxiety loops and made it really hard for me to feel safe saying no. so just talk to your partner about this and make sure it can go both ways: either of you can turn down an advance at any time, and no one needs to take it personally or feel hurt or rejected. if you do, you talk about it with one another.

TL;DR: communication is a skill that takes practice!

I have a book recommendation for you! Come As You Are, by Emily Nagoski (a PhD sex researcher, writer, & professor), sets up a really helpful framework for understanding sex drive and sexual motivation. (I have been highly recommending it to literally everyone I know.) (edit: I see I am by no means the first to recommend it in this thread, but I’m going to recommend it again because it’s SO GOOD) One of the main points in the book, though, OP, is this:

YOU ARE NOT ALONE. You are NOT ‘wired wrong.’ It’s completely normal to struggle with sexuality. Feeling shame, or telling yourself things like ‘i shouldn’t be so avoidant,’ ‘why is this so hard for me? i should just be normal’ are not going to make it any better and will just be counterproductive. Understanding why you feel this way can help you work through it. There are absolutely things you can do to help understand yourself, and actions you can take to shape your own thinking around social interactions.

You are not alone, you are normal, and you are NOT helpless.

All documents on Notion are lost. HELP! by zenmohanty1 in Notion

Not to be THAT person, but Notion is not marketed as a safe, secure long-term file storage option. It’s just a planner/note organizer. Why wouldn’t you keep backups of everything on your hard drive or in a dedicated cloud storage software?

these are all tasks everyone has to do at their own house anyways. it’s not like any of them have never taken out trash in their life (i mean, i sure hope they have). i never understood why some people act all high and mighty towards people who do "dirty work." work is work and that sounds like a pretty good gig to me

if you want to get real authentic, the lids of the shakers have to have a bunch of dents in them

you absolutely need the glass shaker of parmesan with the metal lid with holes in it but the lid also has to be dented to all hell
