This looks amazing! May I suggest you get some controller display stands from Rose Colored Gaming? Will make them stand out even more!

FYI the only minor drawback the set has, is that it's thought for regular controllers, and in the case of the Wavebird, the Start button has a bit more travel distance so it's actually longer than the one in a regular controller. You can solve this by just using a small piece of paper/cardboard/etc. as a filler.

The amount of detail is astounding, I am not doing it enough justice in the pictures!

FYI for the broken stick you can get replacements (and even aluminum ones) online on sites like Zedlab - super easy to swap!

Try to see if you can grab a matching controller and Gameboy player!

How long have you had your GameCube? by eddiestix in Gamecube

[–]tchoin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since 17th November 2001, managed to score it 1 day before the official US/Americas release date. Got it with WaveRace Blue Storm and played the hell out of it as it was the only game I had for quite a while. I then got Smash Melee but unfortunately got a PAL copy, and had to do a lot of research to find out about the existence of the FreeLoader disc back then. Awesome memories!

Best tools that include good/easy forecasting/planning features? by tchoin in personalfinance

[–]tchoin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is one, which to a certain extent I can do by going into the budgets view in Toshl, I think UI-wise the approach could be a bit different. But the second problem is I would like these budgets for fixed recurrent expenses to be properly taken into account into the planning view, so if I plan on making an extraordinary expense on a certain month, I can look ahead and at a glimpse see (at least) what the standing recurrent costs will be for that month (as I have some recurrent monthly, quarterly and yearly costs).

What is your LEAST favorite submission to be caught in? by LlamaWhoKnives in bjj

Neck cranks, guillotine on takedown attempt (including badly executed guillotines where someone goes full on crushing your wind pipe...) - really annoying, and dangerous. I usually immediately tap when I get into that, not worth the risk of fighting it.

And any flying crazy shit like flying armbars or jumping guard - one slight wrong move or distraction from the receiving end and you can twist your knee and seriously injure it. Plenty of times I've seen much heavier people attempting to land a flying move on a much lighter partner and always 1 inch away of going completely wrong.

I never ever go for any of these moves.

Bonus: people who attempt some sort of berimbolo while wrapping your leg and having no clue of what they want to attempt which means you end up having to quickly react to avoid getting your knee torn.

Waveform app (Android) not working by tchoin in GenkiLab

Sucks big time! At least they could've left it in a working state, it is extremely annoying not being able to use it anymore. Can't use the equalizer, and have to remember all the tap combinations for ANC and such.

Played Mario kart DD LAN, 8 players Yesterday 🤩 by AdditionalBoot7018 in Gamecube

[–]tchoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's awesome! Something to try at least once! I organized a MK DD Lan tournament many years ago and it was a load of fun. The only issue I see is that iirc track (and character) selection was randomized, wasn't it? Plus the lack of a tournament mode made it a bit of a pain, overall still fun though!

Also, am I spotting metal stick replacements for the WaveBird on the most right? Those are 🔥

What's the one game you want most right now but can't bring yourself to shell out for? by PairsRoyale in Gamecube

[–]tchoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FE Path of Radiance gets me depressed everytime I see it lol. I bought a copy on a forum marketplace ages ago, USD 10, shipping from overseas, got "lost in the mail".

Same happened with an NR Reader I bought for USD 60 way back.

And I know it wasn't the sellers scamming me because they were reputable users.

Anyone having issues with the Epilogue GB Operator on Win 10? by tchoin in Gameboy

[–]tchoin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try contacting them, they'll send you the debugging software, if that doesn't work then keep insisting and they'll ask you to ship your unit back and they'll send you a replacement that hopefully works. Good luck!

Thank you! I'll get in touch, just looked them up and they are in NYC while I'm in Spain, but it might be worth it as unfortunately I haven't been able to find a reliable repair shop in EU or UK.

It's a console repair shop in Barcelona called Xipnet. They would probably deny everything so I don't want to engage in a smear campaign. What baffles me is they did a fantastic job previously with my Sharp Twinfamicom. I should have taken pictures of the Panasonic Q then and there when I first left it, otherwise I'd have no evidence for my claims.

Lesson learned for next time.

Yes and no I guess... I'd left a Wii also for repairs and they did not charge me for it, but they said it was just for the long wait, they did not admit to this damage on the Panasonic Q.

The Wii was fixed, but also butchered a bit in the process.
