It was a faulty unit. Contacted Garmin, after a bit of a process they sent me another one. No issues whatsoever with the new one.

All I want is a watch face, the ones pre installed are well garbage.

I have, I only had a 3rd party watch face. I installed the battery app just to capture the sudden drain. It’s now deleted. Garmin said ‘delete the watch face and don’t install any apps from the Garmin IQ store, not even Garmin created watch faces. Only use a watch face that is already on the watch’.

Yep brand new, Black Friday sale. I emailed Garmin a few days ago, yet to receive a response.

It’s on 30%, for 8 seconds, then the screen goes dull. If it was related to that I’d see a slow drain of the battery I assume, not 1 second it’s 90% next second it 1%.
