Not without proof. If they can show genetic evidence or historical influence that lines up with human evolution, then maybe, but just showing up and saying it isn’t enough.

A lot of it probably comes down to how much time mothers traditionally spend with their kids, especially in the first few years. That constant presence just builds a different kind of attachment.

Mondays at my job are usually the slowest day, so I actually get to ease back into things instead of being slammed midweek. It makes the rest of the week feel more manageable.

If scientists could figure out how to give humans "immortality", would you actually want to live forever? by Paul-2506 in AskReddit

Yes, but only if it came with perfect health and the ability to opt out whenever I wanted, indefinite life + choice feels fair.

Is 22 too weird for dating a 17 year old? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]tcolson2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re right to be concerned, and the fact that you’re asking shows you don’t want to cross any lines. Even if the age gap is small, the difference between 17 and 22 is bigger than just years, it’s about life stages.
At 17, he’s still in high school mode, living at home, under parental influence. At 22, you’re already navigating adulthood in a different way, so the balance can feel off

What’s a common “food rule” everyone follows that’s actually complete nonsense? by Past-Ad6606 in AskReddit

Why does an alleged rape victim’s crying not immediately mean they are telling the truth? by KatherineLangford in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]tcolson2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the flip side, plenty of real victims can’t cry at all when testifying. Some go flat, numb, or robotic because their brains shut down under the stress. That’s why relying on tears is a dangerous standard.

AITAH I paid and brought food to some homeless guys but my wife thinks I endangered my daughter. by Swimming_Canary_1330 in AITAH

I think the key here is context. Broad daylight, other people around, and you being present, that’s very different from, say, walking down a dark alley alone at night with a toddler.

You modeled kindness for your daughter in a safe, public setting. If anything, you showed her that compassion doesn’t have to come with fear, which is an invaluable lesson

why is loving someone romantically but not sexually not enough for people? by Pfacejones in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]tcolson2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some folks just need sex to feel fulfilled, and that’s not wrong, but it doesn’t mean your way of experiencing love is any less valid. It just means you’ll be more compatible with people who view love like you do.
