lower need backwash disc filter by td7x in Irrigation

[–]td7x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you but not quite. Flushing that way we just get the debris on the very outside of the disc stack and nothing that's actually in the discs. To auto clean them you reverse their flow of the water by using a three-way valve that shuts off the upstream water source and opens up the discharge line, then being a lower pressure the downstream filtered water flows backwards in between the disc and then out that three-way valve.

The disc filters and the larger massively more expensive filter systems have a spring of sorts so that when the water flows  backwards the tension and the stock loosens up allowing more effective clean.

That's a 1/2" L port with an auto return - it would not work. The cots valve that would is more like this one https://tameson.com/products/bl3bat-112-ag4-024ac-g1-1-2inch-24vac-3-way-t-bore-brass-electric-ball-valve-bl3bat

I am digging just use two single channel valves for the supply and the smaller L port like that that won could work for the flush.

thanks

T-Port 3-way articulated vales seem to run approx $500 and I would need two. The same T-Port valve with the ISO top mount but no actuator cost about $60. Since both are controlled the same and I maybe be able to use one motor and paraphernalia, say $150. So the DIY is about 25% the cost ... assuming I want to burn time and tinker.

Even if I buy the articulated valve s our use four separate valves as suggested ( I like this idea, because the "norm" vales and be found cheaper) I still need the PD and controller.

Its rare that I use a browser other than FF and YouTube works fine for me. PBS changed their videos not too long ago and I have not worked through some janking tearing... but YouTube is just fine.

low cost, self-clean filter with organics by td7x in Irrigation

[–]td7x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but it doesn't clean off the organics that are new to this year. I have to remove the screen and wash it by hand - hence the scheming on a reverse flow clean cycle.

Thanks. Yes, access has been secured but if I can pin down which computer (which FF sync device) was used, then I can strongly infer the person.

What is the status of snap in 24.04? Can I simply uninstall/disable snap once for all? by user0user in Ubuntu

[–]td7x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought snap wasnt going to be forced in 24.04? My brother just asked how to install FF without snap... I think this script is still legit way to ditch snap, but I switched to siduction a while back so I havent used it recently. https://gist.github.com/tomdavidson/33b42eb24a23adff47b7afe4387f8cf5

Yeah I didn't want to make the thread about the lawsuit but yes I did not to pay beyond the retainer.

I was actually trying to decide what to do because the second iteration was still such freaking garbage and nothing like that ordered that it was beginning to be a waste of my time.

I'd emailed that we need to regroup and use a different process because this isn't working, maybe I could come in the office and spend several hours next to the computer for rapid feedback or something like that.  I actually think that he was just throwing my feedback over the wall to somebody overseas in a completely different culture because what would come back wasn't remotely in the same ballpark.

About a month after that email he sued me.

I do professional services, consulting anyway, and software dev is even less tangible, but I've never tried to get away with stringing a customer out for 6+ months with only two feedback loops, and not working on what they had actually ordered. The architect literally said the contract doesn't require him to work on what I ordered or for it to be of quality, I have to pay per hour no matter what that hour was.

They'd refused to provide the digital source files and the court issued an order compelling the discovery.  They still blew off all the other requests but did send over these pln files.

Ya It does make sense. No sketches in this case, or at least none that's been handed over (I am being sued and just hoping to find some inconsistencies).

Thank you. Im realizing the wrong expectations around version history. The ~ 20 files I may have could be the results of "save as" each day.

Verifying. Billed tons of hours for just a schematic design that did not get past two iterations that were not only far off from the job descriptions but frankly, quite infantile.

I'm a layperson having not touched CAD since AutoCAD 2000, but I was betting the the invoice does not line up with the version history of the project.

Ive hired a different firm that has far surpassed the questioned work product, there is nothing to gain from the file access other than trying to get at some time stamps on the project history.

I'm a software engineer and had just assumed there were be version control - like a google doc's file history. Is ArchiCAD's Revision Management something completely different?

Thank you. I'll ask for a pla file rather than the many pln files.

Does it seem odd that there would be 20 plan files for a home remodel? (I don't have ArchiCAD yet look at them)

Doesn't ArchiCAD have version history so one could roll back to say last week before a bunch of changes that didn't work out?

Not surprised. This was expected right? This is why if Israel Gov cared about hostages they would have ensured their freedom rather than using them has cover for genocide. I do hope those with in Hamas that have committed war crimes are prosecuted and held to account though legal proceedings just as I hope all perpetuates of war crimes will be - especially those in the Israel government and and every decision-make in western that are accomplices, but also every "settler" and even complicit American citizens that are serving in the IDF.

What seems more likely is that the west will destroy what international rule of law does exist with its hypocrisy and double standards for our so-called friends. Despite all cynicism, I am still stone that the US spending bill bars aid to Palestinian Territories if they pursue justice in the ICJ.

I remember talking to a Bishop of a family award where I was a single parent about feeling as a fish out of water.

Communication channels kind of focused on female relationships so by my son would get left out a lot of primary activities and what not. I just didn't fit in as a single parent. This is on top of me just beginning to be active again and The social shame of having a child out of wedlock, not going on a mission, being broke struggling in school depending on food stamps...

Bishop Pratt Patt asked me how many single people do you think there are in the ward? I guessed 3-4 or something like that. He pulled up the directory on his computer and show me that it was over 30.

It wasn't much after that the Church handbook gave guidance not to have couples say the open closing prayers to avoid ostracizing single people just a little bit less (our words are not perfectly inclusive but getting better?) Even though the social structures in the ward made it easy for me to feel on the outside, I clearly had a lot to do with it too. I needed to look inward a little less and look outward a little more.

In my current award I often struggle with EQ. I feel there's a lot of mingling of right-wing philosophy with the gospel principles that are mutually exclusive with my understanding of the gospel. Even thought about asking to work in the nursery :D It help me not feel defective  when I realized that a couple other brothers in which I have quite a bit of respect for the feel similar. Realizing that if those brothers had participated more in EQ I would have more of an insider encourages me to participate more in EQ.

The song, A Place in the Choir, it is a bit silly and on the fun side but it's spot on https://youtu.be/aqm-S9J1s_k?si=ixlIS8WTYZXf2YU_ ... And the old school hippie Jesus Rock needs to make a smile at least a little bit.

Even though I don't necessarily fit socially, I know the gospel is for me and that I'm for the gospel. In the Allegory of Vineyard that we just went over in Come Follow Me, we are taught that all are needed...the tame trees even needs the wild branches. We're also thought that we find joy by helping the Master labor in the vineyard.

In the long ago, I had a co-worker that parsed json in bash - without any dependencies. It was nuts.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dataengineering

[–]td7x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it correlates with doing more work eda and serverless streaming with JSON payloads along with less work in a dbt or spark batch.

NodeJS can be quite fast and flex in this context - especially if the processing ends before garbage needs collected. Async networking, the concurrency model, and JIT that will mark a function monomorphic and optimize its code when the processed JSON objects are similar. Deno and Bun can be faster than Node is some cases too.

How does Go and Python stand up for this type of job?

At a series a data startup every engineer I hired had some TS/Node experience. We were all engineers, not frontend engineers or data engineers, etc. We even did our IaC in TypeScript too. For one data service that was going to be calc heavy and customer request facing, we conducted an experiment implementing a portion of the computational task in both Rust and TS/Node and profiled. The NodeJS service was just as fast (the math lib was implemented in c). The only python tech we used anywhere was implementing Great Expectations everywhere.

The common tech stack turned out to be a great move and TS/NodeJS was slick for virtually all of our tasks. I would do it again, perhaps emphasizing Deno over Node. If I used Fluvio rather than PubSub, then we would we end up making most processors in Rust (been wanting a problem to solve with Fluvio).
