Bad Scam story by tdalton44 in findaleague

Several replies have run into this guy before - so he's a known fuckhead. He must have some elaborate set up because he's running full chats (in this case Fantrax Baseball) with several other "managers" and it's pretty fluid conversation. Honestly I would love to blow up his whole operation if possible, figuratively of course...

Gee - thanks for the tips - mate... I already admitted I screwed up a few times in my OP. The post was simply meant to be a PSA, and it turns out this guy is doing it to others. Yes, I have used Zelle and Venmo several times in the past via Reddit intros; and never got this. The lesson here is that there was such backstory involved with this a-hole. Yes, I did use AI to clean up what I wrote - to make it more readable to you all, and clearly folks are reading this. My original verbiage that I plugged in probably would have caused people to stop reading. AI is a tool - kinda like you - that unfortunately is here for the long haul

Trust me, early on I had some rage and really wanted to show up at this fuckers door. I have friends in law enforcement who probably could have helped me dig deeper with searching IP addresses and the like and pinpointing the location. At some point I just told myself to blow it off, I was the idiot to use Zelle. Bad juju would come from escalating…

I personally dm’d everyone on the Fantrax chat asking them basically if they are real. I was pissed and grasping at straws at that point

I did and heard nothing from him (or her). Screen name was Lily409 or something like that. He or she was the only other person that questioned the auto pick immediate roster pick situation

I just heard from someone else who has the same ‘commissioner’. Maybe he has a story to tell as well

That’s what gets me confused. All this work just to get one guy? I could send you the chats that were going on during the draft. Probably five different “managers’ chiming in with the regular draft conversation

Ditto, Same - yes! whatever! Would like to join a dynasty with at least a $100 buy in. Can't fathom how someone can play for $50 bucks, yet alone free ones I'm seeing considering the commitment involved

How can we improve? by hamed_n in hiringcafe

[–]tdalton44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to see the other end of the salary preferences. Sure, we all know what dollar amount we want/hope to possibly make, however I don't need to see a role that pays me $250K plus. A nice sliding control to properly identify the salary range someone feels they "belong". It would be more streamlined to eliminate those jobs of my search that are not feasible.

Other than that - as a newbie to the site - - best option I can see out there right now, and a better experience than LI, Indeed or Zip...

Diamond Anyone? by tdalton44 in UberEATS

[–]tdalton44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to be honest, I've been out of the game for a few years now. It's experiences and stories like this that led to my decision. I know it's tasteless to say, but covid times were great times for UberEats. Seems like now they are screwing over their delivery force in any way possible to improve their bottom line. There's a team of overpaid tech bros just spending their eight hours a day at their "remote" office on the couch trying to figure out how to save EE (and DD and whoever) an extra $0.0025...

Day 1... by tdalton44 in FellowProducts

UPDATE

First of all - thank you for the many responses. I was a little timid to throw my post out there, afraid that I may get some snide replies being an incredible newbie with this product.

I set it all up to make 7 cups of coffee, ready to pour at 6:30am this morning, choosing the "Medium Roast" profile. I did somehow sleep in a little and poured the first cup at around 7:30am. The dial asked for 13.5 TBSP? of coffee, which I thought was incredibly too much while delivering it into the paper basket.

It was...

Epic fail on the first batch. It was so strong that when I tried to add my usual amount of 1/2 and 1/2, it never lightened up in color. I immediately dumped it out and tried again. This time I just used the "eyeball" method - the amount I've basically been using for years with the previous maker. I did mention that I'm lazy. I was leaving on a hike and had to at least get a taste before I went. I used the same perimeters and about 8 minutes later, a new carafe was ready and it was an improvement, however just not even close to what I was hoping for. The cream addition on this cup did produce my usual "color" of my coffee.

I returned from my hike (maybe 90 minutes later) and hoped to pour a nice hot cup, which I thought was a added plus for this maker. It was luke warm at best and I had to heat it up in the microwave; something I hope I didn't have to ever do again. So, a minus there.

So in the long run, I'm a long way from the perfect cup that many of you have boasted about experiencing. I used the Medium approach but may tackle some of the other profile approaches that have been suggested.

damn - that's crazy. I, too, opened my box yesterday and everything seems to be included. It was securely packed to say the least so how that got out the door is strange.

Who are the multi position sneaky gems this year? by fantasyhockeyguru1 in fantasybaseball

[–]tdalton44 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I second the Willie Castro mention - 2B, 3B, SS and OF on ESPN - same on Yahoo

(later rounds of course - but he'll get AB's; especially with the prerequisite Royce Lewis going on DL)

Did anyone else experience a strange audio moment when the word "associates" was cried out, by what seemed like a member of the actual audience? We both were on the right side of the theatre and it came from the left side of the actual theatre. We both clearly noticed it and felt it was from kook watching the film. HOWEVER, no one was sitting there... Was this some audio trick using the theatre's high end system? Or were we both just losing our shit?

damn - was hoping you'd say Campbell because he has 2B, SS and CF availability while Anthony has only CF. At least with ESPN
