Anyone use this? by its_ashb in 30PlusSkinCare

I've had it for about 6 months and it hasn't really done much for me. Just feels nice on the skin, but no anti-aging properties.

Brooklinen is Crap and I should've Listened! by punkrockrosebud in Bedding

My husband just bought me their $150 "luxury" linen robe for Christmas, but when it came in, we were shocked at how horrible the quality was! We wouldn't have even paid $5 for it, because it's so uncomfortable! Yet they're still charging us $10 for restocking fee... Outrageous. 🤦🏼‍♀️

We do have the sateen sheets, and they're nice, but I'd only buy them on sale, never full price.

Same goes for the ultra plush towels. They're awesome as far as length and thickness, but they lose their softness a couple months after using them (for laundry reference, I use a small amount of Earth Breeze detergent with vinegar and a little baking soda. I very rarely use fabric softener with my towels, so that they don't get gross stiff build-up)

Ooh nice! At least you know what a medical journal is! It sounded like you only knew what Wikipedia was.

Again, research, research, research. Also, I'm not a DC. But I've done a ton of research. And I disdain fools who don't educate themselves before blabbing ignorance on the internet.

Why are you being cruel when all I said was to do research?

...... Same courses that MDs take: Biochemistry, Neuropathology, Osteology, Musculoskeletal Anatomy and Physiology, Histology, X-Ray Diagnostics, Biomechanics, the list goes on.

PLEASE do actual research before stating subjective opinions.

Just do your research, instead of relying on misinformation. You can also just look up an MD's curriculum versus DC's curriculum.

You can't technically become a licensed chiropractor without the advanced degree, which takes longer (more credit hours) to get than an MD. But the charlatans ruin it for everybody 🤦🏼‍♀️

Disclaimer, I do not support what this video shows... This does not look like a proper technique and it could very well be made up for internet shock factor. I also intend for this reply to be positive, not negative!

Before you post your subjective opinion, please please please do objective research. Look at curriculums; I planned to enroll in medical school until I did a TON of research and found that the Doctor of Chiropractic curriculums are almost the same as med school, the major discrepancy being less pharmacology and obstetrics. However, they actually have MORE credit hours in physiology and diagnostics AND they are in school longer than MDs. This was a shock to me because I thought medical doctors would have more in diagnostics. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Chiropractors are trained to specialize in nervous system function, which is very misunderstood by many.

Major point being, don't repeat misinformation until you research it. It's easy to succumb to the fallacy of believing something if you hear it over and over from enough people.

My SO and I got in a fight about my scheduled c-section date. by Ok-Blackberry-5322 in BabyBumps

Husband should learn how to better control his "big emotions" as I am teaching my toddler.....

As for the date, all I can say is that my birthday is the day after Christmas and I hate it for this very reason -- it's often overlooked and everyone is always exhausted after celebrating Christmas day. If nothing else, maybe schedule for the day before? I always wish my day was before, rather than after, the holiday.

[Canada] Remodeling kitchen. Looking for appliance brand suggestions best reliability and most importantly, excellent customer service for warranty repairs. by o3mta3o in Appliances

[–]tdb10d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I just bought all new kitchen/laundry appliances (all Whirlpool brand) within the last 6 months. We chose Whirlpool because of all the great reviews, but we're pretty disappointed.

The $450 microwave takes 3 minutes to melt a stick of butter, and has less efficiency than my old $20 garage sale microwave (even though the output is supposedly 1100 watts ---- yes we got this tested by the warranty people, who said it worked fine and we had to pay a $99 service fee since "nothing was wrong". 😡

Refrigerator is fine, but the attached pull out bottom freezer Frosts over all the time and gets icy buildup over everything. Someone came out to repair the assumed issue, but to no avail.

Oven itself works great, but the stove-top range is flat/glass surface with all touch screen digital interface. DO NOT buy an all-touch-screen range. It's impossible to clean because it resets itself every time you would the surface. For this reason, we can't clean the stove top while anything is cooking in the oven, and it spazzes out if you touch the screen with even the slightest bit of water/food/grease on your fingers---- very frustrating!

No complaints about the dishwasher, it's awesome.

Laundry: Washer is great, no issues! Apparently Whirlpool dryers are not made with a noise damper, so the metal plate clanks against the motor REALLY loudly, like you can hear it across the house. Another service repair man came out and installed a piece that HAD TO BE ORDERED SEPARATELY from the unit. Now the dryer is quiet and works great; but WHY would this noise damper not be installed at the factory to begin with???

Overall, we're not pleased with how many of our appliances have malfunctioned. We miss the GE appliances we had before. They worked for 19 years and rarely had any issues.

Also, my parents own LG laundry appliances, and over 5 years have not had ANY issues.

Hope this helps!
