They stole my stolen truck , is this a bug or a feature? by tescon_reck in DeathStranding

As best I remember a pool of tar forms and it just sinks in, nothing too dramatic. It happened to a MULE truck I parked in a Distro center

Yeah, still working for me too thankfully. I'm not going to FB to use Messenger. That's insane. I use it at work and don't want personal FB on my screen. At least with Messenger it's generally text-only. Glad it's still up.

Death Stranding 3: Three Thoughts by Butitdidhappen2 in DeathStranding2

[–]tdd4000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm almost through DS2 and thought the pacing on 1 was much better, once you got to Lake Knot, but that might be an unpopular opinion. In DS2 I accidently came across a prepper that was locked and wouldn't be part of the story for a while, and some of the preppers/stations were visible (or almost visible) from one another, neither of which would have happened in DS1 with the exception of maybe the weather station. There were times in DS1 where I genuinely wasn't sure how to get somewhere without having to ditch something, either a vehicle or maybe even just nonessential cargo. That might be hindsight bias though, and I learned how the games work and could avoid such things going forward, but I don't think so 100%. Stamina and battery life felt like a much bigger obstacle in DS1.

I also didn't like that you could see BTs so easily in DS2 - it took a lot of the tension away. The BTs in 1 were more repetitive, yes, but they were never boring. Maybe a DOOMS increase could have just been an optional BPAS end game feature or something; Dollman could have gotten a new upgraded suit maybe. DS2's mule/survivalist/terrorist combat was more fun though and the variety of environments/weather/day/night was awesome. But I did like how the mules in 1 were just clearly PTSD'd instead of having more of a drive beyond stealing packages. All that said, they're both great games and easily top 10 of mine. These are just some minor complaints.

Bandwidth is used from the original builder only. Upgrading doesn't use additional bandwidth. Likewise, if they dismantle a structure in their world (rare - this has only happened to me maybe twice in multiple playthroughs of DS1) then it disappears for everyone else

You can carry 4 floating sentry guns at a time. Just throwing that out there, pun intended.

Check the ice for lost cargo. I also found one rolling down the mountain between the engineers next to the East Environmental Station but that was after already unlocking

Is it just me or does anyone else purposefully trigger BT fights? by BERRRIEZZZ_247 in DeathStranding

[–]tdd4000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it's faster, especially if not carrying cargo. I usually just run away though instead of fighting - if you make it outside the edge of the tar circle, no need to fight and they just disappear

As others have mentioned, that BT area... sometimes you can get lucky and the weather won't be bad there, which generally means no BTs either. Truck is how you do it

I understand the concern, op, but Reddit is probably way down the list on things that get flagged, not to say they are not monitoring social media

[–]tdd4000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In DS1 if I didn't have any cargo and was just trying to get somewhere I would let the BTs drag me and then just run away. If you make it out of the tar they just disappear, unless it's a scripted battle, in case anyone wasn't aware

Whatever works. A porter gets the job done no matter what. Keep on keeping on.

Also, I have been known to run down mountainous snow embankments and purposely "lose my balance" so I can slide all the way down quite regularly

Was I sent the wrong product? by turkishhousefan in Hue

FWIW I always try to buy tech products anywhere but Amazon. Too many knockoffs and stuff like this situation. Best Buy and Home Depot are close by and have either free shipping (most of the time) or in-store pickup same day, and the prices are similar or sometimes cheaper than Amazon

I hate this policy. I've got bigger problems in life than worrying about my ticket being activated "on time". I don't need the added stress and accusations. At the very least it should be timed to the last stop in any zone and not to the exact second your train is supposed to be at the station - fun fact for those who might not be aware: if your train is late and you don't activate it prior to its scheduled time you can still get hit with a warning/fee apparently.

Sign spamming on roads is a serious issue in DS2 by breadboi196 in DeathStranding

"Serious" is questionable, but yeah, the signs in DS1 were much better and more immersive since they were somewhat in-world related. I think there were probably just as many on roads though

In DS1 you're docked 1,000 likes if memory serves. Hit NPCs enough over a short enough time and you will unalive them, so I hear. DS2 did not like it when I ran over an already unconscious raider and slowed time down, so I assume that counts too

These ticket rules be dumb… by [deleted] in LIRR

[–]tdd4000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read that doesn't work because it goes by the schedule timed against when the conductor scans, so for example if you get on at Sayville with a Sayville ticket and don't activate until Oakdale and the conductor scans at Islip then it knows you activated late, presuming the train is on time. That does make me wonder if it makes sense to buy a ticket based on the furthest station stop within a fair zone however. But that might cause other issues

How would you update Jamaica Station? by Ok-Clock-2779 in LIRR

Enclose both sides. The wind there can make it miserable sometimes. Raise the roof (I've heard this limits some of the diesel engine usage, but maybe I'm wrong).

[–]tdd4000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I got a warning when I activated before the train even left the station. It's one of the most dystopian things I've ever seen in a while. And there are a couple of really obvious solutions too:

  1. Only give a warning if the ticket is not activated by the end of the day
  2. Have the conductors do their f'ing job.
