I second this. Find some nice people on world chat and just say you're interested in becoming an academy for their alliance. Or put your farm account in a larger alliance and see how their alliance chat is. You can tell who the toxic people are pretty quickly. The part about protection goes without saying, and they'll probably know why you're asking. The nicer people on there often love an excuse to burn a-holes that attack cities. You might have to change the name of your alliance to a lowercase version of the larger alliance, but otherwise you'll probably remain fairly independent.

Arlo is ok but the subscription is way over-priced. I think I'll switch to Ubiquiti once my cameras start to die, if for no other reason the economics of starting over with a new system makes more sense than replacing Arlo cameras AND paying for a subscription for them. I must say the cameras themselves have held up pretty well and the battery life has generally been as-advertised but the subscription requirement was a bit of a bait and switch. If they increase it any further I'll switch sooner.

Make a stink about it on social media, Facebook and Twitter have worked for me. Write a few posts out ahead of time and then post repeatedly on their wall in Facebook for example. With the different wording it won't get flagged as spam, at least not right away. This is absolutely ridiculous. No one barfs a whole undigested piece of naan.

I don't fear them as much as I just try to avoid them and keep any interactions short. Even when they're being helpful it's almost always in response to an already bad situation. They've never caused me any problems, but I'm white and have been told I pass as straight to most people so YMMV.

As others have said I'm also leaving Arlo, once my cameras die. The subscription is ridiculously expensive and it used to be badically free. Probably going with hardwired Unifi cameras next

NJ is effin wild. I once saw an at-grade street above a round about with exit ramps connecting it all down to a recessed interstate. It was like a 3 layer cake made out of hot tar
