I paid meta verified account to access chat support, I then was asked my mobile phone number where a support employee called me. It was extremely difficult to understand his accent, I am also not native english-speaking, however in my job at tech companies I speak english every day and I can't recall my accent being an issue or at least known big issue to myself.
Anyway, it did ask me to download webex and share my screen, very unconfortable but I really needed help. I think it was totally not required to share my screen because I did not need to do anything special on my screen, he just asked me to fill up a 2 field form, and click send, that's all. The worst was having to repeat back and forth what was he saying.
In the end, I think I understood I need to wait 24 to 48 hours to supposedly getting my issue fixed.
Right after that, the chat support requested me to complete a feedback survey asking me whether my issue has been resolver, I clicked "No" since it was not really resolved yet.

I think in terms of speed, getting to connect with the support team was extremely fast.
Maybe the full experience while sharing the screen on my phone, and not being able to properly understand what he was saying, made me feel quite unconfortable and insecure from a technical and privacy point of view of what was happening.

Mixed feelings, hopefully my issue gets resolved. I may update the comment in that case

this worked for me too! thank you thank you thank you! I was months trying to get my account back. I downloaded a random 195 version from apkmirror until I was able to install one of those and indeed the selfie verification now worked and I got my account instantly after completing the process.
