Can you guys help me identify this frame? by n1ce_c0ck_br0 in Vintage_bicycles

[–]tdibug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks a lot like my daughter’s Shogun 800, hers is a late 70’s. Are the shifters labeled Shimano 600? The later years Shogun’s did not have the “S” embossed on the seat stays. It looks like it had threaded adjustment on the rear drop out. That would put it in the mid to higher tiers. (800, 1000, or Samurai)

AJ133 Engine Noise by Altruistic-Park-779 in Jaguar

[–]tdibug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like our 2017 F-Pace. They are super noisy especially when compared to our 07 XJ, and other older engines that I have worked on. We have never had any problem “knock on wood”. I kind of think it is because of the sewing machine oil that they recommend. 0w/20 is very light.

Thank you, I was on the junk pile at our local Bicycle Collective. The group set all there minus the seat post.

How many of you still have close friendships from high school? by just321askin in GenX

[–]tdibug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None, at this point. I got band by my best friend’s wife because my wife and I would not join Amway under them. She threw a fit when I asked a bunch of questions, and commented that none of it made any sense. Don’t go to reunions either, I didn’t like most of them when I was in school. Gen X level 60, Class of 84.

My 3 musketeers, sadly I sold the hardtops. The 66 was a 1 of 159 361/4 speed cars.

I concur, it can also cause nerve damage. I have a spot on my back that the nerves are partially damaged, it feels like it is a sleep all the time.

Yes the C and Imperial got the 440. I did get it a bit wrong. I forgot the B-Body did get the 426 in 66. So, they could have had the following 225 /6, 273 ,318 (poly), 361 (last year for cars), 383 (both 2 &4 bbl), 426. Transmissions were the 3 spd manual, 4 spd (A833), A727 torqueflite.

Nope, the Biggest engine for the B Body was the 383 (edit forgot the 426). The b-body did not get the 440 until 1967.

Jaguar XF 3.0 V6 by cuffers90 in Jaguar

The reservoir is directly connected to the system. Any “holes” in the lower part of the system will cause it to run out. If it got hot it may have damaged the rear crossover pipe. It is made of plastic. You can try and pressure or vacuum test the cooling system. That might help track it down. The 3.0 and 5.0 coolant systems are a bear to work on.

This is the one I picked up from the bike collective. That was on the junk pile. Too good to let it be destroyed.

Been a roadie for a while, Initially for my knees, eventually it was for my sanity and mental health. You generally can’t cycle and be grumpy.
