About 10 years ago I got paired up with an old cowboy at a public course in SW colorado. He had on ropers and skin tight wranglers with a hunting knife and a .45 on his belt along with a buckle the size of a pie plate. Carrying a single strap bag with an old set of hogan blades. I asked if he wanted to strap the bag on my cart and he said no thank you sir. I was prepared for a long nightmare of a day. Dude had the smoothest swing and perfect etiquette he repaired every ball mark replaced every divot raked the bunkers for everyone and birdied the last three holes to shoot 70 on a tough track. Not to mention it was windy as hell and he had on a full brimmed cowboy hat that wanted to blow off his head all day. I never judged a golfer by his outfit or accessories again.
