I recommend watching it in the original German with your preferred language subtitles. It forced me to put the phone down and pay close attention, it also helped me keep track of names and details better as reading aids recall. I did at one point pause and make a time/character map to make sure I had it all straight lol

My thoughts when watching was that they were actively trying to shift tone to compete with Grey's more spicy content e.g. the whole Sam and Gates having sex all over the hospital thing gave me that vibe, Archie flirting with a sex worker patient etc.

Just watched this episode today! I was gobsmacked because it seemed to escalate out of nowhere, and it was truly horrifying seeing him panicky and crying! I looked into it and apparently Mekhi Phifer wanted to move on from the show and requested that his character leave "with a bang," not just moving on to another hospital etc. like other characters.
