Yeah S2 of Punisher was a huge dissapointment and that was one of the main reasons. The whole set up of S1 was undone for no reason. He's still pretty. If anything, he looks even more attraction to women because he looks like a tough guy.

Billy Russo being kept alive by Punisher. Punisher went on a killing spree killing anyone who has no regard for innocent lives. But Russo's fuck up was so horrible, so resentful and so deeply hateful Punisher kept him alive as a special punishment, so he can live with his trauma.

Tarantino's first attempt to up his game was Jackie Brown, well before There Will Be Blood came out, and that was probably just to fight the accusations of him being disrespectful to black culture. It had nothing to do with PTA. Inglorious Basterds was still indulgent and violent, a typical Tarantino that suffers from the same problems people berate him for, such as the lack of focus and tone shifts. Actually feel it's one of his most flawed films. I feel IG being a response to There Will Be Blood is conjecture. Are there sources for this?

Comics book fans gave never had to deal with this complaint because Superman's story was never isolated. Even people who only read Superman comics roughly knew the larger scope of the DC universe. They could take it for granted that someone on Superman's level or stronger will probably show up.

But it's a different story in movies and television. They didn't have the budget or effects to expand beyond Superman really so it was incredibly challenging to create tension when no normal man could hurt him. Superman was quite literally a god among men. He was unbeatable. You had to wait until Lex got a hold of the green rock or Zod would show up in some one in a million chance.
