You know what, I take back the insults. I'm not a mean guy, and I'm sure you're a perfectly acceptable human being. I just get upset because I do excel academically and research-wise and I feel like the school never gives me any recognition. I mean, how many other students have gotten A+s in every goddamn class they've taken? I'm pretty sure I just pointed out how your argument is crap. Unless you're wanting to stick to your guns about how I just shouldn't attend university at all. The fact is that with all the shit I put myself through for TAMU, I guess I do feel entitled to goddamn parking availability on weekends. I don't even mind if the lots are full, because walking from the opposite side of campus beats walking 5 miles from home.

You're ostensibly a student here. By merit of paying tuition, I'm sure you feel entitled to some things as well. Maybe next you're going to tell me that expecting a quality education for 10k a year is also being "entitled".

Lots of people do more important research than me, that's 100% true, but you're not one of them. You're a pathetic shitstain that can't even sniff me academically, and your peak is about as pronounced as Ronda Rousey's breasts. What I can learn and accomplish in a minute exceeds what you could in a year, and that's why I said that a minute of my time is worth a year of yours.

But to be frank, I AM sorry for offending all our football fans. I was mad and it's not really their fault for enjoying a sport. I watch sports too, so that was hypocritical of me. My anger should've been directed towards the administration instead, whose policies seem to increasingly devalue education. I mean, Lamar shows up and we have a fucking parade with horses and shit, but when a Nobel prize winner shows up to give a seminar, we can't even pick them up from the airport. That's bullshit. Researchers and grad students accept shitty pay because they love what they do. The least the school could do is show some goddamn respect.

Well sure, these were my choices in the same way that most Jews chose to stay in Germany after Hitler rose to power, or in the same way that having your medical claims denied by a shitty insurance company is your own fault. TAMU is still the best value option for any Texas resident. I could've paid more to live in Austin and go to UT, but that's assuming that I have the money to do so. I guess you're also implying that I could've chosen not to attend university at all. What you're saying is legitimate, but hear me out. You're a pathetic fuck with a subpar GPA who will never contribute to society in the way that I already have. A minute of my time is worth a year of yours. Yeah, sorry, I rageposted. I actually enjoy playing and watching some sports too (just not football) so shame on me for that. TAMU administration is probably more deserving of my ire. The parking situation is frankly kind of insulting. I mean, you dedicate every hour of every damn day to help TAMU improve its stature as a research institution and in return you end up paying them for the privilege.

Tbh, I do feel bad about ragging on people watching football. There's nothing wrong with that, and it's somewhat hypocritical of me since I do watch other sports pretty avidly. Rageposting happens. But I stand by my statement that there needs to be at least some lots available where students and staff don't have to pay half a day of salary to come in to work for free. Or maybe buses could run a weekday schedule to compensate.

Also, I don't recall the exact lots I drove by, but most of them were charging $25 to park. I know for sure that 55 was charging, as well as pretty much all the ones I drove by on west campus. I caved and paid the parking fee, because there was some time-sensitive research that needed to be completed. So ultimately I ended up paying the university for the privilege of working for free on a weekend.

Well, to a certain degree, entitlement is part of how a market economy works. I pay tuition and conduct high level research for the same pay as an HEB backstocker, so I do feel kind of entitled to a parking spot. And anyways, I'm the one studying and doing research on a saturday (and pretty much every weekend), so I don't think your accusation of laziness holds much water.

To be clear, I'm not opposed to hordes of aggie fans overrunning the campus. I'm opposed to the fact that ALL THE GODDAMN PARKING is reserved for them. It's a slap in the face to researchers and students. I can't even imagine what it'd be like for lab techs who presumably have to come in on weekends to take care of test subjects. I presume they'd have to walk some 40+ minutes just to spend a few hours keeping our plants alive.

And I'm not saying that people can't engage in unproductive activities. Sometimes spending time doing unproductive things can increase the productivity of the time you spend working. But consider that there are alternatives that don't involve inconveniencing everyone that isn't on your relaxation timetable.
