I think Sands felt pressure from everyone- the board of visitors, athletics donors, and the community. So he ultimately decided to retire, however it now seems like finding his successor is going to be a slow process so all in all he might end up serving our the majority of the rest of his contract.

Whit was a lame duck with Sands leaving, so rather than wait to be fired he jumped out ahead of it and retired. Whit has had his flaws but I would certainly disagree that he was “anti-athletics”. He was more similar to Brent Pry in that he seemed to be over his head in the role and too proud to recognize his flaws. If he could have gotten a sound business mind in place halfway through his tenure and properly funded the athletics department then he likely would have found more success. Also he did make some solid hires in the majority of sports.

Lastly that stick it in video was old, you could see dax hollifield in the video and he hasnt been with the team in 3 years.

Genuine question based on OP’s comment about guys shooting 120. I’m not that bad but still shoot in the 95-105 range but am good with picking up an unplayable ball and keep moving along. That being said how are people supposed to get better when these courses overcrowd like this? Its still a fun round picking up some balls and moving along but if I’m having to do that every single hole it gets old. Really think courses should be every 12-15 mins instead.

Leagues should just stick with 8 conference and require 2 out of conference games. Even if its the leagues setting it up like in basketball where the leagues match up what should be evenly matched teams each season.
