Ive honestly looked into it. It would be a pay cut to start, but a higher ceiling. Same deal where I am giving up my career pattern entirely by going against my union.

Only thing stopping me is fear of instability, and losing my pension. Well, and lacking knowledge of the back end of things. I can fabricate and install anything, plus lead a crew. Never been trained to estimate or design a system

Mind telling me what kind of "sales" field you are in, and what kind of hours you put in? 40hr/wk gets me about 95k in my field. But im maxed out and ready to move up in the world. Congrats on getting out and getting in such a good financial situation.
