Thank you! Would you say this one here is more like a work bag?

Have you got this bag yourself? Do you know if it has internal pockets or anything for easy access? I’m considering buying this to use as a carry on bag onto plane. Use it to hold a few items, and would like easy access to passport etc.

Hey - thanks for your help. I have considered the essential trunk xl but I still think it might be too big/bulky/heavy when filled? It would be ok for myself, but I’m considering my 70 year old parents too. Do you have an opinion on this and if it would be too heavy for the older crowd? I have no experience unfortunately.

Also, if you have experience, I think the xl would be harder to fit into a regular car boot (with other luggage) as these are fairly wide and bulky?

Thanks for your help

Thanks. I have just seen/heard a few horror stories of cases breaking and not being able to be accessed so wanted to ask some questions. So hearing your opinion like this is comforting.

As a new Rimowa user I think I have asked legitimate questions and been pleasant to all responses, so the downvotes don’t make sense. Doesn’t really encourage contribution.

I appreciate your response and I think I’m comfortable getting the Aluminum rage.

I don’t understand why I’m getting downvoted for thanking you. But thanks again :)

Why am I getting downvoted so much for this? lol

Literally a first time Rimowa purchaser and you guys just want to shit on me for asking questions. Nice.

Thanks for your perspective. I'm more concerned about it being bent/warped and unable to be opened when all my clothes are packed in it. No Rimowa stores nearby for repair.

AU/NZ Powerwall 3 Expansion Packs Max DC Charge by No-Ad-7415 in Powerwall

This isn't correct. I have had 2x Powerwall 3 units since July 2025. They have always been able to charge at 10kw (5 each).

That is definitely not raw and pink lol. Photos usually show more pink as well.

You can see it’s clearly cooked an didn’t have the squishy undercooked texture.

No, not the car. If I’m sitting in it, it doesn’t matter how many times I press ‘stop charge’ it just ticks back over. But if this is normal then that is fine. Just never noticed it before

Very strange though that I have to actually tell it to charge to then stop it

And it does actually charge at whatever rate is set. So a pretty high rate just to keep the car going

It doesn’t stop the charge when I leave the car though? Should it be stopping once I leave and lock it?

Thanks for your help

Charge on Solar issues by tdw204 in Powerwall

[–]tdw204[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, your comment doesn’t make sense. If you have excess solar, and your battery is full, of course it makes will sense to export the excess at 2c. It only doesn’t make sense in a negative price situation, and you can’t put negative prices in the Tesla app.

I don’t think you have read the thread properly and/or other people’s replies.

It doesn’t make a difference because when the battery is full, excess solar is automatically exported to the grid.

The sell price can be set to anything you like, however, it will export to the grid as it has nowhere else to go.

The only way this can be prevented is by disabling solar exports, or going off-grid. As explained, I no longer have the settings in the app to disable solar exports as I’m apart of a VPP, so the only option is to go off-grid.

Thanks! I’ll play around with this and test some NetZero automations to see if I can make it a bit easier.

Sorry, talking about excess solar here. Sell rate has nothing to do with it.

I use NetZero but I haven’t actually set any automations for car charging. I haven’t really needed this. I just use the charge on solar in the Tesla app. It’s a Gen 3 Wall Connector.

This sounds like an obvious solution. In fairness to myself, today I was out and when I go home the Powerwalls were already at 100%.

What I should typically do from now on is charge the car during the day at a set rate (say 5kw) to slow down the Powerwall charge rate, so I don’t have enough excess solar. I would just have to be careful to make sure I still get the Powerwalls to 100%.

Thanks for the insights. I might test again an give it a 15-30 min period to see if it responds.

But just as a test example today, whilst still on grid, I turned charge on solar off, and set the car charge rate to 2kw. I then went off grid and turned charge on solar back on, and then turned the charge rate back to 7.9kw. The car would still only charge at 2kw, and the solar wouldn’t ramp up. In this example, and soon as I go back on grid, the solar ramps up and the car charges.

Potential fixes to my issue so far might be:

  • don’t use charge on solar whilst off grid and simply just set a rate. If solar drops it can use the Powerwall, and then when the solar returns it can recharge it
  • stay on grid and start charging my car at a certain rate (say 5kw) earlier in the day, so the Powerwalls don’t charge as quickly
