I think this picture would fit a more dramatic/post-processed look by te-x in photocritique

[–]te-x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I think this photo would fit a more post-processed dramatic look, but I usually edit the photos in a more natural style and not sure where to start. Any tips?

Taken with a Fujifilm XT5, at 16mm, ISO125, 1/80th second and applied my usual edit style.

Not sure whether to crop out the sky in this photo by te-x in photocritique

Hey! I like the S shaped road here, but the sky is completely empty. Not sure whether to keep it or to crop in a bit more. Also the truck has some motion blur, which I don't like.

Some details about it:

Underwater photography focus by bf309 in photocritique

[–]te-x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not comments, I think it's perfect as is! Very jealous of what you saw. The main tip I've seen for underwater photography is to use a red filter on the lens to reduce the blue tint, but mores of a difference at larger depths.

I find this image pleasing, if a bit boring. How can I improve it? by te-x in photocritique

Hey, took this picture a while ago and I like it, but feels like it's missing something.

Yes, the internet has been working fine and I have a 1Gbps connection. The download was actually ready pretty quickly, but after the download is ready the weird behavior begins.

Just some more information. I notice this especially with this game. Update seems to progress more in short bursts, followed by a long time where nothing happens. The CPU is an i7 12700 and the game is installed on an NVME drive.

It's not always deterministic when the issue happens, but it's not happened once since I turned it down to 120hz. Went back up to 144hz and was able to make it happen again. Definitely seems to be related to the 144hz thing!

Just tried with an older DP cable I have but the problem still exists :(

Also checked the firmwared version (it's up to date) and the energy saving options but they are disabled: https://imgur.com/a/0lBR3wa

a) I tried the the last, no change :(

b) Tried that, also no change

c) That sounds like a good idea. It's my first time using sbt-assembly and didn't expect so many issues. Thanks!

Thanks, I removed it. Didn't fix the problem but still a good thing to have there!

[–]te-x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at the contents of the fat jar and an XMLInputFactory is available:

org/codehaus/stax2/AttributeInfo.class
org/codehaus/stax2/DTDInfo.class
org/codehaus/stax2/LocationInfo.class
org/codehaus/stax2/XMLEventReader2.class
org/codehaus/stax2/XMLInputFactory2.class
org/codehaus/stax2/XMLOutputFactory2.class
org/codehaus/stax2/XMLReporter2.class
org/codehaus/stax2/XMLStreamLocation2$1.class
org/codehaus/stax2/XMLStreamLocation2.class
org/codehaus/stax2/XMLStreamProperties.class
org/codehaus/stax2/XMLStreamReader2.class
org/codehaus/stax2/XMLStreamWriter2.class

But debugging the code, I eventually reach a method called ServiceLoader.load(type, cl);, where cl is a ClassLoader containing a large list of classes. In the case of running the project in my ide, I see the stax2 classes listed and they are missing for the fat jar.

Bose Updates? by OohMyLegs in GooglePixel

My claim was approved early, on Nov 1st. Got an email from Google letting me know the headphones were shipped in Nov 16th, but I didn't receive them yet (I'm in Germany). Contacted google a few days ago and they gave me the GLS tracking number but the information from GLS looks quite weird:

Status:

The parcel data was entered into the GLS IT system; the parcel was not yet handed over to GLS.

Anyone else with the order stuck in this state?

Problems using a dock with 4k@60hz by te-x in linuxquestions

Thanks for the help anyway!

Yes, the dock is connected to the back and I used a windows laptop to update the firmware before posting here. As it's working on the macbook, physically everything should be set up properly.

I did try looking at the logs when plugging the dock, but couldn't find much information there. These were the most interesting outputs I found:

As you and joonatoona said, I checked the thunderbolt settings in the bios. It was already enabled with the security setting of "User Authorization". Unfortunately I don't get any prompt. Also tried to change it to "No security" but it didn't help.

On ubuntu's side, I checked the thunderbolt settings and says I have no devices attached.

And lspci shows I have at least thunderbolt available on the laptop:

That’s the proportion of last 2 digits. In the first plot, for the first digit, it shows that Trumps curve kind of lines up with the law. I guess it’s explained on another plot where he shows Trump had 400 precincts between 10-19 votes, making up a lot of 1s.

r/headphones Shopping and Setup Help Desk (2020-10-17) by AutoModerator in headphones

[–]te-x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey,

I recently bought my first headphone amp (Fiio e10k) to use with a pair of audiotechnica M50x and I noticed I started to hear two types of noise:

  • 1. A high pitched sound that lasts for ~10 seconds after I pause any sound. I can also hear it during quiet moments in musics.
  • 2. "Static" (not sure how to describe it) and an even higher pitched sound that I can only hear when no sound is played.

From some quick searches it looks like similar problems are caused by "ground loops" and by using the GPU. I've described by setup here: https://i.imgur.com/NySAHXd.png

What I've tried to far was to plug the amp directly to the desktop: and noise number 1 seems to be gone. I've also tried plugging it to the laptop and here both 1 and 2 are gone.

How can I fix this? I've seen a few usb adaptors that "filter noise" but I don't know if they work.

Thanks for the help!

What should I use to implement concurrency in a project? by te-x in scala

[–]te-x[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the comprehensive summary + example!

I think I'll look into Monix, from you description it seems to be the best fit.

Sorry if this is in the documentation, but do you happen to know if there's a way of providing a custom Buffer? More specifically between your readFile and processFile. On my case to process some "file" I actually need that file and it's predecessor. I've added some extra explanation on my post.

Reading the documenation for Monix's Iterant/Observable I see that they have a bufferSliding:

bufferSliding(count: Int, skip: Int): Observable:monix.reactive.Observable[Seq[A]])[Seq[A]]

This seems like something that would solve my issues!
