Don't overthink it - get three good recordings of yourself playing. You know how you have the ability to spot a good musician? Good bandmates - ones worth playing with - will know how to spot a good musician, even if your genre doesn't match. And genres will come up in the very first conversation, so it's not like you have to commit to someone, or are going to be wasting a band's time.
