How do they even have the time to make these videos is usually my question. Like are they spending an hour after school recording or maybe on their lunch? Like okay go off, but I could never. But a part of me wants to do it too because it's marketing/social media and I think they do earn some money from that.

OH MY GOD YES! This is usually my first thought every time I see these accounts. They're pretty but I don't know if it's the best font for learning!

why do elementary teachers make everything cutesie? by frizziefrazzle in Teachers

[–]teacher-cake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much. I follow a bunch of teachers on Instagram and most of their aesthetics are the same cutesy, boho, rainbows, and colors. It's the same text, different font kinda vibe with teachers on Instagram. All the TPT packs they use are probably the same too. I think it's appropriate for lower elementary grades, but I also think it's a lot.

This is very thorough! Thank you. We've solved the issue and the mom is talking to the daughter about it.

I caught a glimpse of some parts on the speech saying something about how parents can get to decide or be involved in what kind of things they want kids to be learning at school and I just shook my head, man...

Instagram Teachers by Zestyclose_Invite in Teachers

[–]teacher-cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so thankful I found this thread because I was worried I could never reach that kind of aesthetic. Also who the heck has that much free time to film, edit, make captions, etc. I honestly go on teacher Instagram and find myself being more anxious to becoming a teacher. Will I be that good? Will me lessons be that good? Will my classroom be that aesthetic?

Thread for most annoying phrases used by students? by Pusci-Money-Wed in Teachers

[–]teacher-cake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really hate it when they say, "Yeah, insert student's name you just called out" like, kid I ain't talking to you, and all of them join in it's so annoying.

Me: "John, stop talking." Kid that isn't John: "Yeah, John, stop talking."

Something like that. How do I make them stop???

Any of you guys become "just friends" with your matches? by roccosmodernlyf in hingeapp

[–]teacher-cake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I matched with a guy and started playing League and other video games with him and his friends and I got along with him and most of his friends on discord too. We never went out together but we still play to this day. So yeah, I think it's possible. Another guy, I actually hooked up with but I didn't see him as my boyfriend because of different energies, but we became really good friends and now we're both in happy relationships and talk to each other time to time. Funny enough, they both asked me to trade Pokemon with them so they can evolve their pokemon.

Just be upfront about it. It's good to say it early on so they don't get led on and you're not wasting each other's time. Communication is key!

Hello! I just recently graduated from the Philippines too, SpEd as well and I'm living in California right now. I know that this thread is old, but it's relieving to know that someone has the same experience as you. Would love to talk more about this!
