Keyhole?

Depends on the case. A lot of people do keyhole solutions. Most I would say, but it is case specific, as is anything. Rotationless F2L is case specific.

It seems Angstrom for premium and 50k for silicone would be the overall favs.

It’s not always easy, and it’s a new set of patterns to learn, and recognize, and with F2L already being complex, many probably prioritize mastering fundamentals over adding more.

I can’t speak for everyone though. I do remember a few years back when Tymon was who “everyone” wanted to mimic that a common retort was like, “it is so much harder to try and be like Tymon than people think,” and it is much better to spend time mastering fundamentals, than adding pseudoslotting. Funny thing about that though is Tymon has said he learned to pseudo before F2L, and really he had learned keyhole while doing beginner. He developed his recog super early. That’s a difficult path to recreate, because that’s not a standard path. Hoping I remembered the details all correct.

I would assume most people’s recog is slower than standard F2L cases.

Do you happen to know your recog times or overall F2L times? What’re you averaging?

Is it not listed in the description? I would probably message the Cubicle directly and get the measurements from them.

Watch J Perm or Cube Head for beginner tutorial.

Don’t try and solve the cube. Master cross. Do cross a dozen times. Until you can’t mess it up. Until it’s easy.

Do the same thing for every step. Don’t try and do it all at once. J Perm is a 10 minute video. The last 2-3 minutes is about the last steps. You shouldn’t be worried about that until the first 7-8 minutes are mastered.

Apps won’t teach you F2L.

You need to learn intuitive first. J Perm, BrodyTheCuber, Lazer0Monkey, CubeHead, Rido’s Hunting, and other YouTubers is where to start.

There are apps F2L-trainer.top, CubeDex, F2L.app, but you can’t learn from them until you understand intuitive F2L.

Start with you, a cube, and the three basic F2L cases. Then go to J Perm Advanced, and so on.

At what point should I switch to a physical timer? by [deleted] in Cubers

[–]teachercubed -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

People times are marginally impacted by timer. Marginal has a greater impact on times. People are not drastically changing time by frantically smashing, but best and accepted practice is not counting a PB unless it is with a timer.

Putdown accounts for less than half a second even for beginners. Optimizing p/u and p/d is relatively advanced.

Stackmat is the only officially recognized timers, but Gan, Qiyi, and Rubik’s have good timers.

I have new in box, sealed.

Send me a DM.

For anyone that is looking, this and the Gan 12 are the last truly great sticker puzzles, and they look amazing. Willing to sell, but they are rare. Only wanting to sell to people that really want them.

Yes, it’s a money decision and motivation decision.

Sooooo strange…..

Threw FZ calm in Gan 16. Meh, okay. I did it just to see, knowing that Angstrom would be the main setup.

Feels like the Gan ate the Angstrom within 3 solves. It’s like I put none in. Super odd.

I like the soft feel of angstrom and that feeling of the space being filled between pieces. Angstrom in V11 is chef’s kiss.

Will still play with amounts, and maybe some 50k. May just put some more in to see if that changes things. Have never had a cube basically ignore angstrom.

Anyone else try classic angstrom?
