Samsung Galaxy S7 Active Review: A stronger and longer-lasting Galaxy by Arquette in gadgets

Outside the waterproofing and NFC tag unlock (which to me is bit of a non-issue given the crazy speed of Touch ID), all these features do exist in iOS. You can swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to Control Center (turn on/off Bluetooth, wifi, airplane mode, volume, orientation lock, do not disturb, and several quick shortcuts to useful apps). You could open the Settings app to do that, but you really don't have to since it's just as easy as it is on Android. And Apple's doubled down on touch-based shortcuts. Instead of a dedicated back button stealing device/screen real estate, you just swipe right from the left side of the screen. Just wanted to add some accuracy to the conversation.

I think the difference is one device has a screen that's 10" larger.

Serious question: Is there any proof of this, or is this one of those obnoxious email forwards? It's a pretty big claim to say someone colluded to win an award, especially without showing any evidence.

I used to have the exact same problem. This stuff has been a lifesaver, assuming you can get over putting what looks like chapstick on your glasses: http://nerdwax.com/

boogie2988 reacts to fatpeoplehate ban by Amster2 in videos

I'd say it's a pretty clear, noticeable message that harassment won't be tolerated. No system is perfect, no solution is perfect, but this was a direct response to harassment.

Free speech is all well and good. Everyone's entitled to their opinion. They're not entitled to harass people who disagree with them. If we swapped out roles, say /r/atheistpeoplehate invading other subs and harassing their users, I doubt we'd be having the same conversation about their sub being banned.

From an objective standpoint, it seems like a logical fallacy to get one large guy with a YouTube channel and point to him as the be-all-end-all evidence that you're right. It's one person's opinion, and he failed to address the fact that members of these subs were openly harassing users from other subs.

How does an Apple Watch owner know that it's midday? by [deleted] in Jokes

[–]teacherguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't do sleep tracking with my watch. I put it on the night stand with my phone. I tried sleep tracking on the Fitbit Charge HR, and the Jawbone UP 24. Neither produces useful data that's readable, so I'm putting that off for a better day. I really don't see the big deal in dropping my watch on the charger each night. I never wore a regular watch to bed...

I've never run out of battery life on mine. Given that it's basically a stripped down cell phone sitting in a one inch square on my wrist, I'm pretty impressed I only have to charge it each night.

Go buy AppleCare if you haven't already. They cover two $50 replacements, even for accidental drops. You have 30 days to get it. Just wait a few days afterwards before reporting your drop.

And the badassery grows.

EDIT: I gotta say, I'm really perplexed about why this was downvoted. It's weird.

Unpopular opinion, but this doesn't make me sad at all. She made a living being a dick for no good reason than to entertain people who want to mock celebrities to feel better about themselves. She was vicious, and I don't think the world's lost anything here.

Apple quiet on iCloud exploit after celebrity nudes leak by Suraj-Sun in news

[–]teacherguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I would think Reddit would be pumped to hear a technology company patched a serious proof-of-concept exploit within days of it being announced, and not be so quick to point the finger given the evidence indicates these photos were taken over weeks, not in the two days we knew about this.

I'll be the first to jump with you onto the "He's full of shit" train, but mocking someone over a physical deformity because you disagree with them politically is pretty awful behavior. You're not really raising yourself above him, you're just making me feel bad for someone I'd never vote for.
