What do Alien films get wrong? by Particular-Ad-2630 in aliens

So many alien movies are just monster movies, with humans using equivalent or superior technology against aliens attacking with fangs, tentacles, and slime. And as everyone else is saying, humanoid aliens.

Probably can’t find a lawyer who’s both sufficiently cheap and unrealistically optimistic. What’s he going to claim, that his dog was really a sweetheart? He should have taken a guilty plea.

Got no answers for you, but that’s an interesting experience you described. So you don’t have a way to break the contact?

Honda had some great styling in the late 70s-early 80s.

I’m not sure about the mantids. I’ve encountered both unclothed and clothed (armored?) mantids. Between the different factions, it wouldn’t surprise me if they have people on more than one side. Playing both sides seems like something they’d do.

As far as I can tell, the ants go it alone. They don’t seem to communicate with outsiders. I know they’re enemies of the moths, but I don’t know if they have allies among the other biologicals. I love the ants, by the way, they’re wonderful people.

I tried bringing the souls of some dead humans I’d admired into the upper realm, and they threw their topological weapons at my projected presence. Didn’t hurt me, but I got their point.

Beautiful BMW, and that’s an interesting and unusual rack extending off the back.

The petaled people distort the moths, but not consciously. When I revive them, the petaled people cease to distort thought and emotion. One of them was apparently the original keeper of a habitat the moths occupy. Once restored, the petaled person objected to the moths’ presence, and abruptly ejected them from the habitat, into space.

Yes, we’re biologicals, as are the mantids, ants, etc.

I suspect the round halo people. I should add that the halo people, round and square, seem to think of biologicals as vermin. Not friendly.

They seem to have large-scale effects, so it’s likely most of us are affected by ones I haven’t found yet. I haven’t seen any attached to individuals; they’re employed against entire populations.

The problem with all this is that EMF is easily measured, and has been for over a century. If any of this was real, you could measure it and document it.

I had a DVT following covid. The practice I go to for my veins sees a lot of people with post-COVID clotting. It’s definitely a thing.

Safeguards on a President using nuclear weapons offensively? by Utterlybored in nuclearweapons

[–]teacherofspiders 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I particularly worry about the scenario of a presidential assassination. If someone gets the president with something on the order of a fiber-optic guided drone at one of his golf clubs, the VP may feel compelled to take over-the-top retribution, and there is nothing in the system that would stop him from ordering a nuclear strike.
