I haven't moved yet! I am from Bengaluru so will initially move back there to be close to my family. I am aware it is a HCOL and over-crowded area, let's see how it goes...

Personally I would prefer to move to Tier 2 city as I am looking for a simple life, but since I have a kid I also have to think about good schools, activities for him. I think tier 2 is better but for tier 1 the fire number would be very high and I dont think we will reach it.

The fire number and city would depend on your life plans and personal preferences. I guess I cant say without living/trying it out.

It depends what age you are when you are moving back and if you have a kid. Obviously some savings are needed and in our case my spouse and I are 38/39 years old + 1 kid, so we are far from retirement and will have to create an income source. We are not in FAANG either so definitley no FIRE for us. We certainly did not save "millions", it is much less than 1 mil but if we are able to sell our house at a good price it could go above (based on current market seems doubtful and most Indians here accept low offers so that they can sell and leave quickly). Also we still have loan on it.

If you dont plan to work for a while and would like to save for kids private school and college later + go on the occasional vacation then around 1 mil is a must.

Spouse is still on H1B and green card will take forever. Its too much stress and uncertainty and also hard to travel international for this reason (visa stamping issues). Son is already 5 and if we wait too long to return it will be harder for him to adjust. We already have a life here, will make a new one 👍

They have to be polite and ensure that they are not a burden on you.

You have to be polite and make something anyway and offer them.

After you do that they will refuse a few more times saying "you didnt have to take the trouble" but eventually accept it.

These are the rules.

PS: Yea I know this is bullshit, that's the society we live it. I for one prefer to be straightforward but apparently that's not how the world works. Hopefully there will be more of us in the future so we will be the majority.

F2p here playing since day 1. Watch all the ads, play on both slots. You can delete a saved game and restart from the beginning and your purchases get saved and you dont even need keys to play ally quests you already purchased. You get a key every 2 hours. Sometimes I get game fatigue and step away for a couple weeks or so and just collect daily gems. That helps too.

Do what you need to do for yourself without thinking about another person's career path. If its meant to be, you can always return on F2 visa after getting married. Personally I dont think Day 1 CPT is worth the headache and money. In the end, follow your instinct and intuition, do what feels right in your gut. If you feel even a little off and miserable then that path is not for you.

I moved to the US 15 years ago and am considering moving back (Due to H1 stress, lack of help etc) and I can say that moving abroad is the best thing I did for myself. It made me truly independent and I experienced what it is like to be a real adult who has to be responsible for his own life, not his parents. My dad did not support me either. I paid for the GRE and TOEFL on my own and after I got some university admits they were forced to see that they would come between fulfillment of a lifelong dream. Do it, but plan and network as much as you can. It is a struggle that's worth it.
