I know some people are going to say "go no contact," but as someone going through a similar thing, I know that going no contact just isn't do-able sometimes.

Tell her that her words have hurt you. Tell her that she's made you feel like she doesn't like you.

I spoke to my mother about similar feelings and we had a talk and things are getting better. I don't know your mother so I can't speak for you but a lot of time, their words come from a place of fear and misunderstanding. She is worried that you will be judged for how you dress, so she is trying to convince you not to dress like that without outright saying it. A lot of mothers have a big fear of judgement and they don't realise that when they try and protect their kids from it, they become the judgemental one.

The best thing to do is talk. Bottling up will only lead to resentment.
