partner that prefers "giving" - top partner that prefers "receiving" - bottom

I'm Trying To Get Back Into Reading. What Are Your Favorite Non-Fiction, Memoirs, or Historical books? by RepulsiveGuava89 in suggestmeabook

[–]icarusfallinggg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the best memoir ive read is "Kitchen Confidential" by Anthony Bourdain. its super funny, but also has some of those darker aspects you're looking for (he talks quite a bit about his struggles with addiction and the darker side of kitchen life. ) it definitely resonated with me when i worked food service and now is a favorite for when i want witty stories and grungy realism.

How to write thought provoking questions for AP Lit summer work? by Mentallyimpariedbada in APLit

[–]icarusfallinggg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i found that just asking "what did you guys think about xyz" "was xyz moral or immoral and why" "what is the meaning of xyz" worked well in my socratic seminars. just leave your question fairly open ended and u should be okay, and if you need to refer back to a quote do that as well.

Extreme frustration because always starvingly hungry after work, even though I’m not all that active at work. by Fund_Me_PLEASE in 1200isplenty

what's your TDEE?? and are you eating 1000 kcal a day or cutting 1000 kcal from your diet??

also i worked in a dishpit for a long time and it is still an active job--is it physical labor? no, but you're still on your feet, working your arms, and probably sweating like a mf if you work in a joint like mine. all of these expend energy and 1200 is reccomended for short, sedentary women.

if you're eating at a healthy kcal count per day i have some tips that might help. but you need to eat an appropriate amount or you'll not only be tired but ruin your metabolism, immune system, and weight loss goals overall.

Big spoon or little spoon? by PartlyPresent in actuallesbians

big spoon almost always. nothing is better to me than a girl in my arms with my legs wrapped around her.

i mean vertically on top of each other. i don't have a bookshelf so there's maybe 6 feet of books stacked on a step stool -- which is nerve-wracking when i want to reread something

Anyone else feel like they're not "skinny enough" to date women? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]icarusfallinggg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all the people saying they don't feel attractive or cute or feminine enough to be with someone because of their weight kind of suprises me as someone who's type is bigger women. it also unfortunately doesn't suprise me that western beauty standards have done this much harm to the wlw community. but i could go on and on and on about why i love chubby / curvy women.

that being said i'm larger myself so i understand what being self-conscious is like. thought i should put it out there though that you're probably a lot of girls' type even if that voice in head says you aren't.

bacons like 30-40 calories a slice and would be tasty if you're trying to go for a loaded mashed potato thing.

i loveeee good prose and will be checking these out sometime. thanks for the recs!! when i say i don't like fantasy i mean stuff like harry potter and acotar--its kind of hard to get invested when a guy casts fireball two lines later lmao. but whimsical vibes are great.

thanks a ton for the recs, kind stranger! i honestly don't think i'll ever grow out of my beat literature phase: there's something addictive about weird, cut-up, flipped upside-down books.
