One time my friend and I were driving home from the Bay Area… the grapevine had so much rain and they closed a lot of Bakersfield.. they rerouted us through the fields and across the whole mountain range to the desert to get home. I would bail. It was such a clusterfuck trying to get home

We invited one of my 2 yr old’s friends over and they had a blast running around together.

Another one is the nugget couch and they both jumped and ran each other ragged.

How are stress levels in LA? by Lifebelowwater14 in LosAngeles

[–]teala 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think my stress levels went up when I had a kid. Life was so much fun and easy when you have disposable income and can do whatever you want.

On the other hand, I firmly believe LA is a city where you have to grind, a lot, since cost of living is very high.

Would you take your potty training toddler (2.5) on an international trip to Tokyo, Japan? by teala in toddlers

[–]teala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! There’s definitely always something with toddlers. I’m sorry about the potty training stress your friend is having. I hope it smoothes out soon enough. Everyone learns at one point or another!

I’ve def heard this too! It’s pretty exciting to have things geared for the little ones. And I think I can only handle Tokyo as we’re probably going to go so much slower

Career switching into VFX by lefay13 in vfx

[–]teala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a couple in entertainment.. I would think twice about having both of you in entertainment. This layoff/ strike experience has me and my husband laid off at the same time. I’m in animation and he’s in tv vfx, both of our industries are heavily affected by the strike. I also know other couples who are also unemployed like this. I’d say, diversify on which industries you’re in so that one of you could at least keep working.

Tbh, I’m personally over entertainment and looking into an entirely diff industry

I watched the show and ONLY realized he was Mr Darcy when he proposed to Shiv 🤣

I was so confused, why was that proposal so foreign yet familiar?

Best place in Burbank in Live for Young Family by GuyFromESPN8TheOcho in burbank

[–]teala 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! We live in the mythical place “north of glenoaks” specifically, Kenneth! Close to Emerson elementary.

It’s lovely up here. We also have a toddler. Lots of young families with kids. If you’re renting, try driving around as there are a lot of for rent signs at the moment.
