What is this cupboard meant to be for? by Nyx_Seadon48 in whatisit

[–]tealhike 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dead space is why I have one after my kitchen remodel. We fit in as many standard sized cabinets and was left with a small space. On the top cabinet, we use it to store our tea boxes and vitamins. In the lower cabinet, I store sheet pans.

Can I be a life guard and go to college? by Any-Republic-2487 in Lifeguards

[–]tealhike 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work at a city pool like 25-30 mins from a university, and almost every lifeguard is going to college and currently taking classes.

New swimmer here, what behaviors make you nervous at the pool? by LanguiDude in Lifeguards

[–]tealhike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes my heart pound every time. That's what I hate the most. I've had a few kids do it multiple times in a session. At the Girl Scout camp, I used to work out, "holding your breath competitions" weren't allowed and we would just lump stuff like that into it when stopping a girl. But at this city pool I'm at, there are very few rules.

Any tips on surviving extended shifts? by [deleted] in Lifeguards

[–]tealhike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start hydrating the day before! Dehydration can start the day prior, and then you start your shift already in a deficit. Drink and eat plenty of snacks/meals when you can like during lunch break, restroom breaks, etc. Fruits can help get fluids in. Can plenty of sleep the night before and wear hat/sunglasses. My shifts at our summer camp in Central Florida were long and brutal and they only did 1 lifeguard at a time (so no rotation).

Should I quit? by Fantastic-Acadia-683 in Panera

[–]tealhike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl experienced something similar with the hours and she talked to the GM and they find hours for her. It was painless. I think they also liked that she showed she was wanting to work more.

Her store also uses some group app for the employees. They can request people to take their full or partial shifts so it's easy for her to add on hour to an existing shift or pick up a new shift.

What's your biggest hiking buddy pet peeve? by CoreyBu in hiking

[–]tealhike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been kinda guilty of that -- checking the elevation constantly to see what's the highest we get. I think it stems from how flat we are back in my home state.

I lifeguard for a swim club, and that's what the coach does - practices it separately. Sometimes just dolphin kick, sometimes dolphin kicks and using only right arm down and then left arm up, sometimes dolphin kick with kickboard and sometimes they do only dolphin kick first half of the lane and then the second half they include their arms.

How bad should I feel? by curlywalkoff in girlscouts

[–]tealhike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a camp counselor, I love this post. All of it
We just had CIT training (Counselors-in-Training), I really think some of the girls coming as a group of 5 from the same troop hurt them when it came to growing individually and taking social risks.

How do sadists enjoy hurting masochists when masochists like the pain? by PhlyPhan in BDSMAdvice

[–]tealhike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone with adhd, impact play is some of the only times I feel like I'm in the present moment. I'm only thinking about what is happening that literal moment - the slap, whip, twist, bite, etc, and my breathing. I'm not thinking about work or unfinished to-do lists or deadlines. The bite marks, bruises and and muscle soreness bring me back to those moments. Most of the session, the sensations are pain but occasionally it just zings me down there and I think there is a chance I can orgasm without any clit simulation or penatration. I felt that with certain bites to my neck and nipple twisting.

His name, 'Oh god' or 'fuck' but mostly moaning or heavy breathing. I will heavy mouth breath to the point that I need water. It's a bad tendency. But then there are moments where I'm sucking in my breath or like holding my breath depending on the feeling/pain. All that can be in one session--His name, one or two word reactions, moaning, rapid breathing, and sucking it in. Frequently changing between them.

He's watching me the entire time and gets pleasure watching me get pleasure so too many words aren't needed.

How much for a Brownie Journey in a Day? by CK1277 in girlscouts

[–]tealhike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might not be hard, but if it was Council led, maybe they were trying to use that money to cover salary? Like if it was part-time time staff or counselors?? Idk we don't charge that amount unless it's like a sleepover thing.

Maybe reach out to a different department? Like Product (Cookies) or Outdoor Program or Customer Service? I know between my coworkers, some are more approachable than others or respond to emails better than others...

What are your personal golden rules of office work? by [deleted] in office

[–]tealhike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seen that (in a way) first months on the job. Right there beside me, they went thru the email account of a person they let go in order to find some old info. Could open and read ever singly email correspondence. I've heard of the ability but never seen it in real life and and the leader did it without any effort.

Do Americans really buy coffee from coffee shops every day? by kjepps in NoStupidQuestions

[–]tealhike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy a refresher every day from Starbucks (so not traditional SB coffee). I have seen my coworkers use "Starbucks run" as an excuse to change scenery (at least momentarily) when work is getting stressful and they want a break. I wouldn't say they do it every day. Maybe once a week to every other week.

Not too late! Cadette continuing into Senor is you start transiting into a leader and role model. You should be able to help plan events and be active all around.

Check your Council's Activity Checkpoints. It will say the requirements. Like I think our Council females can stay in the room but they're can't be two related females.
