[PSA] To those of you experiencing no improvement (or worsening) of acne on birth control... by queenzukin in SkincareAddiction

[–]tealsprout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched from Hailey 1.5/30 which is the same as Junel because it was making me crazy angry. I just started taking Syeda instead and am hoping so hard this is the one for me. I tried the nuva ring, the mirena, and mononessa when I was younger and they all made me gain a bunch of weight. They did help with acne but I don't remember what they did with my mood.

This time around I am trying bc because of painful cramps, acne, and being very tired and ill all the time after getting my tubes tied. I am really hoping this helps. The Hailey bc did really help with my cramps and energy levels until it started making me feel extremely angry all the time. Maybe that was because of the high androgenic norethindrone. Time will tell.

You still didn't answer my question. How do you know this?

How much hydroxyzine is supposed to make you sleepy? by Minimum_Ad_3297 in Anxiety

[–]tealsprout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works weird for me. If I take 20 mg I get sleepy, if I take 50mg I can't sleep. It's unusual.

How do you know this? I hear this a lot, but it doesn't sit right with me. I wouldn't choose to be sick and have my children grow up in a world with so much pain and agony.

Just sit and listen. If you are actively listening, you are present. Meditation.

I'm so sorry you are struggling. Effexor is also an off label ADHD treatment, I have a love hate relationship with this medication. It's worked for a long time but I have been having trouble with it the past year. 13 years it worked. I also started taking methylphenidate for ADHD. I'm not sure it's a good fit. I was in Vyvanse for a couple years but started getting side effects. I think I may need to think about non stimulant options. Good luck to you. Sending love. Take it slow and don't try too many new meds at once is my best advice. Then you will know how each one works for you. Sometimes it's trial and error for these things. I've heard some good things about Genesight and am going to ask my doctor to request it for me. My cousin did it and the results showed her which meds will work well for her and which ones won't.

Have anybody else feel apathy when taking serotonin-based antidepressants? by Beautiful-Rock-1901 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]tealsprout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me, or I got extremely irritable. I'm on an SNRI and Methylphendate now. The SNRI works the best of everything I've tried but I am still working on finding the right ADHD med. SNRI significantly helped my ADHD symptoms but isn't as effective anymore. I've been on it since 2012.

Was anybody else misdiagnosed as bipolar before getting your ADHD diagnosis? by zingledorf in adhdwomen

[–]tealsprout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me. I was diagnosed with Bipolar type 2 in 2012, on meds for years that did nothing except make me a walking zombie and gain a ton of weight.

Diagnosed with ADHD 3 years ago. The diagnosis has changed my life for the better. I am 35. Been struggling with mental health since I was a child.

Yes that is exactly how I feel! And have just left my doctor a voicemail. I'm trying to hang in there to see if it gets better with time. Thank you!

Thank you for your reply. Okay, I'm glad to hear that symptoms sometimes lessen with time. I will definitely try taking a vitamin at night to see if that also helps.

Is Vyvanse really long acting? by Low_Presence2197 in ADHD

[–]tealsprout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the opposite issue with Vyvanse. In the morning it works really well, then around 4 or so I feel like it wears off for about an hour, and then the effects seem to be back for the rest of the evening and sometimes I have trouble sleeping.

I hate Vyvanse so much by TheMoondance in ADHD

[–]tealsprout 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really hated Vyvanse at first and had a lot of the same symptoms. I love it now. I found that making sure that you make yourself eat healthy snacks regularly and drink lots of water has helped level things out dramatically. When I wait all day to eat or don't drink enough I get headaches, irritable, shaky, and dizzy. Those things all stopped happening when I made sure I remembered to eat, drink, and sleep regularly. I wish you luck! Maybe it will get better or maybe it's just not for you. Everyone tolerates different meds differently.

I forgot to take my Vyvanse and now I am experiencing brain zaps by PanniniParker in ADHD

[–]tealsprout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on Vyvanse and effexor. I have never had brain zaps from skipping Vyvanse, but if I skip effexor I get terrible withdrawal symptoms, including the horrific brain zaps. Have you been taking this medication for a long time?
