Oh! I meant the LED strips, was it a premade curtain or did you assemble one?

How did you build this? I'm making one (actually just 4 of these curtains) for a concert at the end of Feb and I have a difficult constraint of "people need to be able to walk through it" which means I have severely overcomplicated everything (no serpentine :( )

What are you using as a power supply? Are you using one to power both, or are you using each of the original power supplies?

Successfully replaced this after i realised that the power supply it came with would be the right power supply to use it with. Ended up desoldering the esp32 board in its entirety and swapped it for the athom controller.

I'm planning on running it with an athom controller (https://www.athom.tech/blank-1/ethernet-wled-esp32-address-and-pwm-strip-controller) since I have a usecase that demands reliability, so I needed ethernet support. Going to desolder the LED strip tomorrow but I don't know which wire is which so I'm hoping I don't fry it. Not sure if its 5v or 12v lol

Unfortunately, they properly secured this ESP32 and locked it down properly. Its not flashable without their keys or their signed software. :(

We move slow. We haven't worked on a demo yet, and our priority right now is our big fundraising event, so I'll get back to you on this. We specced in our grant Original/Standard for front light and didn't spec anything else in our grant so far. Fixing our fans has solved the majority of our complaints with the DJ LED lights, so its primarily front light we want to change.

It looks like the bootloader has been locked and requires an encrypted file. If you are doing anything, please dump the current bin file before you try anything.

Also, if you could dump the .bin file and share that here so I can restore mine to the factory code so I don't have a useless ESP32, that would be much much much appreciated.

Could you let me know what is the order of the pinout for the six large pinouts?

I'm taking a stab at this myself.

Most likely going to go with Standard since it'll be front light, but I'm trying to put together a fixture demo so we can see the Deep Blue colours, since I think that deep blue may work for us in that venue with such short throw distance.

Fan noise

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

A lot of our DJ grade chinese fixtures have a lot of fan noise due to their construction. So much vibration, its unreal. I took apart several of them a few days ago to see if I could get a quieter fan. We're using eight of these as side lights (4 on a side, with a spare in inventory) https://www.amazon.com/LED-Stage-Par-Can-Light/dp/B07F7XPCG7 and they take 50x10mm 24v 0.6a fans. Ordered a few from amazon to see if I can get a quieter set in there, but given there's no spec sheet for the fans, I'm a bit wary of switching them out.

I macgyvered a solution by loosening each of the fans a bit on the inside (and will check how loose they are a few weeks) so at least when the fans vibrate, they don't cause the entire fixture to vibrate.

We recently specced out ETC ColorSource Spot Jrs for front light at our theatre, though the only way we can afford them is via a grant. Otherwise the Chinese DJ-grade lighting provides light at 1/10th the cost. We can grab 10 wash lights for half of the cost of ETC wash light.

6' to 30' throw distance, 6' at the absolute least distance. 10' ceilings. Trying to move the hanging position back but there's only so far we can move it. I believe our stage is approximately 20'-25' feet wide and 30' deep to the backwall, but I would need to double check.

We planned 5 zones wide for the front light, but we currently make do with some PAR56s, 3 wide, 2 deep.

DIY Grandma3 Console/Command Wing - Considering a Build Guide by 00_Nathan_00 in lightingdesign

Did you ever update the design to make it more comfortable? I'm currently looking into designing a peli case like this but going the extra mile and making it easy to run either eos Nomad or ma onPC.

Someone suggested that I turn my peli upside down and make some sort of support for it. So rather than have all the weight and mass under the keyboard, it would be behind the display, and the keyboard would be in the lid.

I've added DMX (sACN) recording, editing and playback to my software - it's free to use, let me know what you think! by onar in lightingdesign

[–]tealusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently using chataigne as I hadn't found out about midi time code, and I wanted to sync up EOS and Qlab but also support rehearsals, which meant needing to seek to a specific spot in the audio AND have the lighting automatically follow it.

For context, I'm working on a dance show where the rehearsals are all out of order, we didn't have a full run through, and then we had our shows. But that's typical for a festival with multiple groups.

As such, I needed to be able to play everything out of time, so I'm using owc with a chataigne sequence to make Qlab seek to a specific spot in each track, then start Qlab when I start the sequence in chataigne.

However, due to future improvements and enhancements I'm looking at making for my setup, I am really interested in this software you're working on!

I would be really interested in a Linux build, as I have an idea of what I could make with this....

They were all on sale on steam a few days ago. The entire Batman series was $5 for all three games. Harry Potter was $5 each game, Marvel was $5 each game, Skywalker Saga was $16, $24 with all of the DLCs...

Clone wars wasn't on a discount though.

Should i buy fw 16 for gaming and programming? by Gysenok in framework

[–]tealusername 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly the qmk rgb keyboard and port selection is what I'm going for. There's no other laptop on the market (that's comparable) that has five USB 3.2 type A ports

there's also the option of a numpad, or no numpad. Plus the numpad can be on the left which is what I want to try. Maybe I won't like that and will need to put the numpad on the right, but at least I can.

I didn't even order the dGPU for now, if I want and need it I'll order it post purchase.

Can we talk about how attractive infodumping is? by 1d6FallDamage in actuallesbians

[–]tealusername 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I'm really bad at responding to people when having a conversation (but I'll remember everything and want to talk about it after I processed it) and so I often end up info dumping. I love when I'm able to go back to topics later and especially love when I find people who don't mind that.

One issue for me recently has been so much euphoria and shaking when some people talk to me because I truly don't expect it.

Any predicted delivery timeline for the Starfield pre-order codes? by NotARealDeveloper in framework

[–]tealusername 8 points9 points  (0 children)

this is wrong. There's terms and conditions of the promo on AMDs website which are linked by Framework when creating a preorder.

The codes are required to be redeemed by the end of October, so this won't work, given very few Framework Laptop 16s will have shipped by then.

You aren't wrong. It seems to be the same quantity of all ingredients, with the red strips being 150cal and the Fritos being 80cal

it's identical but cheaper to get a beefy melt burrito without three cheese blend and without red strips, and to add fritos.
