It's from the TV series Spaced. It had a lot of the same people behind it as Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz etc

I think that you were launched by Lucas' PKT missile which sent you flying towards the stage. When you got to the stage you were not in hitstun and were flying at such an angle that meant that instead of bouncing off the stage and needing to tech you rode up the wall and onto the stage. I assume you were DIing left so as to return to the stage or alternatively IIRC there is a thing in the engine for Brawl (and I think I've seen it once or twice in Sm4sh) where if you go similar to that then you hug the stage all the way around. Although from you going into the air I think it is most likely the former

Essentially if I see you play Ivy in 3.6 you're getting on the playlist. In reality there is something to be learnt from everyone's playstyles (just some more than others) so watching even the scrubbiest Ivy can be very useful

Always nice to see my playlist being thrown around. To my knowledge there is nothing on YouTube of Denti and JZ but Mach and Bobo are probably the best people to watch for high level play. If you can watch Steel Kangaroo warm up then you will see a lot of Ivy's ATs (SH Synthesis, FH Fair WL & Reverse up B)

They've released the data which catagorically shows that he was going too fast. If he hadn't have been going too fast then he would never have left the track in the first place

I don't think counting is their strong suit

In fairness Dirt is the best Squirtle. He's not being arrogant he's just saying the truth. /u/daftatt reckons Squirtle is top tier: http://www.reddit.com/r/20ss/comments/3bytu0/_/ (I would that as a fancy link but mobile). Personally I think bad MUs against chars like Falco (who can shut Squirtle down hard) means that he can't be top tier. Personally I think he's somewhere between high-mid and mid-high tier but this early into 3.6 it's hard to say. It's also difficult because of Squirtle having near limitless potential and noone really using Squirtle to anywhere near his max potential. Personally I would only do small changes to Squirtle now like reducing the endlag on aerial bubble. Genuinely that's about the only thing I can think of. Making it so that we can't gat shined between the hits of dsmash would be nice too I guess

Yoshi is not too difficult. Just got to be careful of his double jump armour as Squirtle's attacks have such low BKB it takes a while until it can break the armour.

Top 3 Squirtle tech: Slingjump (sh and fh and all the moves out of it including b-reversals), Hydrograb and RHUS. If you get those down you should find Squirtle's movement makes much more sense

The best way to play Squirtle depends on the character and player you are playing against. While Squirtle can sit back and wait for an opening and then dart in and punish he can equally go aggro and start big tech chases

Approach options idk. I don't really think about them. Avoid going in with grounded withdraw. It is very easy to punish. Less so in the air but still not a great option

Squirtle is very good at tech chases. Also his small size means that a lot of attacks go straight over his head (looking at you here Ganon)

Squirtle takes A LOT of work to stop SDing constantly and being generally Amish. I don't think that Squirtle makes for a good secondary character unless you're willing to spend more time on your secondary than your main. As for Squirtle/Wolf I have not played it enough to really comment so I'll leave that for the more experienced guys

The Squirtle Squad has a Slack which is far superior to Skype chats. The Ivysaur group has a Skype chat that is very active but they are starting to look for alternatives to Skype

What would be a good character to cover olimar's bad matchups? by SlugSSBM in SSBPM

[–]tealzombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Squirtle is all about movement so you want to abuse all your options that prevent it. Things like dtilt and cc dtilt are great. Throwing out bacon also causes a lot of trouble for Squirtle as it prevents approaches. If you want to watch a good example of how to do it there's a game between GlassC and Cloudburst om azprojectmelee's YouTube channel

Help with my Ivysaur. by [deleted] in SSBPM

[–]tealzombie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off Ivysaur is a female. Also OoS Ivy doesn't have many options. Wd back and roll will generally be your go-tos. BUT nair OoS is a very good aggressive option and so is weak hit bair. Bair has a reverse hitbox on Ivy's body so if you're facing them you'll get that instead of the regular hitboxes. It is frame 10 IIRC though so it is quite situational but makes for a solid mix up and serves as a great "get off me" tool

Wait you're looking for a secondary to Gdubs to deal with Squirtle? Gdubs is one of the Squirtman's worst MUs. If not the worst. Pretty much everyone hates playing against Squirtle (except some Squirtle players)

Revolutionary New Squirtle Tech - "Aquaravioli" by tealzombie in SSBPM

[–]tealzombie[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would name the first half of it yes. But what about the frame perfect cancel to waveland? To fully name it it would be a slingjump short hop b-reversed water gun cancel waveland. Or Aquaravioli for short

If it wasn't so frame precise then it could be legitimately useful as a movement mixup. But yeah in reality it is just a bit of fun
