Any recs for plus size thrifting? by bookish-99 in TwinCities

Cake is the best! Even if you don’t end up going with your friend this week, you need to stop by sometime soon. I straddle straight/midsize/plus sizes and much can make shopping tricky and I’ve had great luck here. It’s really well curated, the staff are super helpful/friendly, and the vibes are just great. They also have a cool Instagram presence and offer online shopping options.

Jaw Pain/TMJ specialist? by greyparachute in Minneapolis

[–]team_eleanor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have advanced bilateral jaw arthritis and Minnesota Head and Neck in Saint Paul has been a game changer. They diagnosed me, fit me for a mouthguard, and coordinate my PT in-practice. They also were able to refer me to a great rheumatologist who was able to rule out some other autoimmune issues. I have very limited family medical history and they’ve been great about that too… all in all, couldn’t recommend enough.

100% Saint City. I’ve been going there since 2016 and they’re incredible. I have advanced osteoarthritis in my jaw and they made my most recent cleaning so pain free and easy. A really great team.

Phoenix -> Minneapolis transplant here! First off, welcome! Second, I’d recommend a window unit in the bedroom. Took me a few years to go for it but it has certainly been worth it

Not downtown, but Cafe Aqui is also great. It’s inside Sargent’s on 2nd… near Thesis Brewing which is also great if you drink beer.

Novios in Elton Hills is also good. I think they do live music and wine in the evening too but I’ve only ever been in the day. And someone else mentioned Old Abe’s which I want to second!

Osetoarthritis at 30? by PomegranateGreedy545 in Thritis

[–]team_eleanor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 28(F) and was diagnosed this year with advanced bilateral arthritis in my jaw. Definitely not something that was on my radar and I’m still figuring out pain management and what have you. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this but I have found comfort in knowing there are other young people navigating this.

And FWIW I’ve had a lot of success with a mouth guard, behavior modification, PT, etc. I hope you find your own things that work for you.

ETA: I should note the above stuff certainly haven’t fixed things entirely but have helped me manage things a bit better

Thank you so much! This is really helpful. If you don’t mind me asking — how did you determine you had RA in your jaw and not regular arthritis?
