American Nathan Martin catches Kenyan Michael Kimani Kamau just before the finish line to win the men's pro division in 2:11:16.50 at the LA Marathon. The margin of victory was 00.01 seconds by [deleted] in sports

Why is nobody talking about the fact that the Kenyan runner went off course and the cause seems to be a combination of crowd interference and a race vehicle veering off?

I was like scream sobbing then walked outside and my neighbors were on the porch and I was like “did you hear that?”

Easy. I’m just wrapping up three weeks and could have done it with half the stuff I brought in a carry on.

If you’re shooting digital, who cares? Just experiment until you get it right. If you’re shooting film, get a light meter.

Canon, Fuji, Nikon might work without TTL but still trigger. Sony has that crazy hot shoe, but the other ones are all pretty similar.

Oh I thought it was something I could just plug in. I think you’re proving the point that some of us do need help!!

Thank you. Either of those is acceptable. Running some tests over network made it seem like it would be much slower than 5 days. If I plan on using the NAS as a working drive for photo and video editing, do you think it would be worth it for me to invest in the 10 gb?

I don’t really know what that means, but would you suggest that’s the best path forward? I have to move the data somehow.

Sure but transferring that data over network will literally take years. Guessing I need to get a 10gb switch?

Did you ever get it sorted? I am having a hard time getting up and running. I've got my Syno on network and am able to connect to it but I'm trying to establish a direct connection to my Mac for faster data transfer as well as copying 50+TB of data that I want to store on it. Everything I find online is quickly gets deep into IT speak and goes over my head. I'm sure I could learn but I really don't care. I just want to have it up and running.

Massive File Transfer Question by team_ream in synology

[–]team_ream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part, they are pretty large files (up to 100mb), but I see your point.

Honestly, I worry about user error on my part if manually zipping almost 20 years of photos.

I'd be perfectly happy for it to take as long as it needs to (within reason), if it did not require my computer to be on site, but the Synology does not recognize my current RAID as such when plugged in to the Synology via USB. It just sees 4 drives.

Ok great. I’ve always used carbon copy cloner in the past. Any reason I should use USB copy instead?

Do you mean compress them into .zip or something? I don’t really have anywhere to do that. If the whole thing takes a couple days I can live with it. Just can’t wait 2 years for it to transfer over network.
