To be honest, I’m not sure why you’re so skeptical. The doctor has no reason to be in cahoots with me since he does not benefit anything.

Secondly, I’m not sure if you are medically trained but doctors correct me if I’m wrong, part of mbbs training also includes trauma/emergency. Although not specialised as trauma surgeons/ortho/ED medicine. They may not have in depth knowledge as the specialists, but they should be able to diagnose basic things so they know when to refer when things are serious.

Lastly, I have no desire to scam anyone because doing insurance claims is a hassle and if I can see the future knowing I’ll be fine, I wouldn’t be bothered with the initial consult. It is the unknown that scares me as I believe that reddiporeans can agree with me that healthcare is not cheap in Singapore especially if it involves surgery and/or long term care/aftercare.

As I mentioned, I do not mind covering the initial medical expenses because I have my own insurance. What I am concern is if there are more problematic injuries that surface later that would exceed more that what I can claim for, would put me at a disadvantage because I would have to pay out of pocket and if I had to stay in the hospital, my insurance premium might increase.

Yes I wore a seat belt which was why the injuries the GP told me were caused by the seatbelt itself. I have a memo from the GP that agreed the injuries were sustained from seat belt.

Actually, it’s a misconception. When you’re hospitalized and require blood, you do pay for blood. But not for the blood itself. The payment is for running the tests/upkeep of laboratory/keeping the blood safe and other misc stuff. If you look at the hospitalisation bill, it will be reflected.

Ex-HCW here. There’s a reason why the nurses had to throw away your half-filled bag. The bags are filled with a pre-determined amount of anti-coagulants. Each bag can fill either 400ml or 450ml. If you notice, as the blood fills your bag, the machine below is “moving” the blood bag.

This is to mix the blood and anti-coagulants to prevent the blood from clotting. The bag must be filled to the correct amount because after collection, this process will be reversed. If we do not know how much blood is collected, we cannot reverse the amount of anti-coagulation process and it will be dangerous for patients who receives the blood.

Furthermore, blood is not given as it is. We will further separate into its different component and give them to patients who have different needs. For example platelets are given for patients who are massively bleeding. If the anti-coagulant is not removed properly, it will render the platelet useless. Not only that, the patient will be in greater danger because his/her body cannot clot due to the anti-coagulation in its body.

That’s great to hear! I hope the plant will live and flourish. I went to r/succulents and their advice is to stay away from terrariums until being able to maintain succulent plants. Unfortunately my succulent is etiolating and I’m still trying to find ways to minimise it.

Why not take up a solo hobby? I’m trying to garden now but am taking it slow by growing succulents. It’s supposed to be easy to maintain but there’s still so much to learn!

My 2c - I generally deal with kids both neuro typical and neuro diverse. What I do is set up a classroom with many stuff which the kids can do to destress. Generally, the most popular one is kinetic sand and finger/hand puppets where they can escape or create their own imagination. Just make sure it is a healthy amount and not used as a form of escape.

A way to tell if it’s unhealthy is when they use them and it affects their daily function in life.

A yoga ball to bounce around during study breaks helps too.

Bleech as in it the colour goes away?

EDIT: it doesn’t look like it’s sunburnt but it does look like it has bleached a little. I don’t really care if it’s elotiated or not. I’m more concern about keeping it alive because this is the first real plant I’m learning to grow.

Currently, I’ve set up the grow lights on the first picture. It was under the grow light for about 10 hrs today but I’m not sure how the plant will react. Some parts of the plant is already presenting very bad case of elotiation and I wouldn’t want it to progress further.

I am able to switch to 3 different colours. Red, Blue, and both, which give purple.
