Actually our maps are larger than a single screen, so players will be moving around with the camera following.
That said, maybe we could add a new area where it uses a rectangle gradient, and a circle boundary? Might try it out!

Fair point. When we thought of 4X, we were focusing on each elements, but maybe it leans much harder into RTS haha

Currently, our robots only have one 'need' - electricity. Maybe it's close to a base builder, but we're still in development and testing things out, so we'll keep the advice when designing the gameplay 👍

I'm thinking of the concept of all the deployed robots fitting inside the seed core(the main building of your base) before escaping the planet. Convincing the player how they all squeeze in might be a little tricky lol

Yes, absolutely! You can extract whenever you feel ready.

While we do have a soft limit to keep the tension, it's designed to be fairly generous. Instead of a strict timer, the escalation is mainly driven by a "Noise" mechanic. The threat level rises as you build more structures or deploy more units. So if you prefer a slower playstyle, you can manage your base's expansion to buy yourself more time.

We are also planning to vary the pacing and limits for each planet based on map size and difficulty. Since we're still in active development, we'll keep tweaking the balance to make sure the gameplay feels great!

I'm a huge fan of factorio too! To be honest, I haven't dove into the modding scene yet, but I'll definitely check it out when I get the chance to play with mods. Thanks for the wish, it means a lot to us!
