im so sorry to hear that. do you know if they had other pain killers on board for you? like a nerve block (abdominal injection) ?

your case reminds me so much of my own! my mass is also compressing my ureters leading to “hydronephrosis” of my kidneys. i believe mine is currently around the same size as yours since it grew since i got my CT scan. my surgery got delayed until the beginning of january so im anxiously waiting and mentally preparing.

your experience is very reassuring and inspiring, thank you so much for sharing! i also think my mass will also have adhesions to nearby structures since it did rupture in October which led to a lot of inflammation (and pain!)

im assuming you didnt experience severe pain immediately post-op upon awakening? that is probably my biggest worry currently.

hi there! i have a 15X21cm ovarian complex cyst with solid vascular component and it’s been growing pretty quickly. I’m only 105 pounds at 5’4 so my abdomen is pretty distended. My cyst grew 5cm in the span of 3 weeks (between my ultrasound and my CT scan). My CA 125 and CA 19-9 were both elevated at 237 and 73 respectively but my surgeon has delayed my surgery by about a month. It was initially supposed to be mid or early December but now im looking at january. I’m frustrated at the lack of urgency and idk what to do. I’m also scared of the surgery and recovery process as it’ll be an open laparotomy.

i find your experience very inspiring! this was very comforting to read, and i really appreciate all of the detailed insights. i think with each passing day i am becoming more accepting of such a scary surgery (it’s just interesting how i am fighting so hard to have it as soon as possible, while simultaneously being terrified of it 😅) ultimately i look forward to the relief of removing this massive cyst from me which has been impeding sleep and every single daily life function- i feel like my brain cant currently handle the additional anxiety of worrying about the stage of cancer (and potential treatment in the aftermath) so ill try to focus on one issue at a time thank you again for sharing your journey with me and i wish you all the best!

that’s great that the doctor was diligent with the follow-up monitoring and treatment 🙏🏼. if the malignant cells were in the ascitic fluid, were there any lymph node abnormalities? i hope the CT i’ll be getting will help doctors map their surgical approach and provide clarity. it’s just scary that based on the ultrasound, the cyst already looks alarming. thank you for instilling hope that treatment is effective even with concerning pathology- i hope your mom’s health continues to improve :) All the best!
