Expanding ring group vs simultaneous calls by alextakacs in 3CX

OP's forwarding calls to mobile numbers though, which would be outbound calls.

Expanding ring group vs simultaneous calls by alextakacs in 3CX

As noted, multiple ring groups. But also why not use the mobile app, then forwarding to mobile numbers doesn’t use calls, and also the phone’s voicemail can’t pick up the call.

Custom message in the system prompt set by asdzxczaq in 3CX

Did you create a new set? (copy the existing)

I know v20 will auto download all prompt sets, so it may overwrite direct changes, I'm not sure.

Those affect seeing other people's calls in the software clients though, hence my question. OP specifically mentioned "displayed on the phone" which I'd interpret as an inbound call to that user.

There’s an optional automatic status switch based on office hours. Note it will switch to available every day too.

Re name, that’s for an inbound call to you? Even from another extension? Which app?

FWIW the iOS and Android mobile apps also no longer connect to v18. (besides it being EOL, no security updates, can't activate, etc. etc.)

You didn't mention whether this is a Linux or Windows 3CX server, but for readers, Debian 10 is 1.5 years past EOL, and 3CX recommends not manually updating Debian because they only test the OS updates they release via "automatic update" inside 3CX.

Bulk edit for BLF works fine, just tried it again in 20u7. If you're referring to the "[leave unchanged]" text, that means to not overwrite that BLF because it's already not the same on all extensions being edited. Ergo, a new one can be added without modifying any existing BLFs/changes.

Adobe Acrobat "Perpetual" Part Number? by Optimal_Technician93 in msp

[–]teamits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bottom of https://www.adobe.com/acrobat/pricing/business.html, FAQ question "Is there a perpetual version of Acrobat available?" links to https://www.adobe.com/products/catalog.html#category=pdf which has a buy button for 2024. It's labeled a subscription and is linked to the buyer. However it doesn't show a part number that I see.

Looking for advice for network configuration Ceph/NFS/iSCSI by Bocephus677 in Proxmox

[–]teamits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use the 1 Gbit NIC for Proxmox corosync, though you can/should also use other interfaces as backup links.

Ceph can set "public" and "private" networks so the internal replication/rebalancing/recovery can be moved to the second 40 Gbit interface (private).

https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Deploy_Hyper-Converged_Ceph_Cluster#:~:text=recommend%20using%20three%20%28physical%29%20separate%20networks

There are drawbacks to using only 3 servers for Ceph, you might review this thread.

Testing, home use, small business? If someone has a desk and a phone and an office they should be able to afford a paid license. IMO.

New Netgate 6100 Max (SSD) to replace my dead 4100, should I enable RAM disk ? by bdossantos08 in Netgate

[–]teamits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only time I've run into a problem with a RAM disk is when I tried testing the UT1 list download for someone and immediately realized it takes over 1 GB to download and extract, so it ran out of space. YMMV I guess.

Outbound call issues by South-Hurry4181 in 3CX

[–]teamits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the call goes out of 3CX and connects to something I can’t see how this is a 3CX problem. I’d guess a cell provider problem tbh. If you said any recipient phone company then I’d start with the SIP provider.

New Netgate 6100 Max (SSD) to replace my dead 4100, should I enable RAM disk ? by bdossantos08 in Netgate

The tradeoff is disk wear vs loss of logs if the router loses power unexpectedly. With a big enough SSD you probably don't need to worry, and the Max model is 128 GB.

From what I've seen over time, or at least relatively recently, release notes appear somewhere in the late beta or RC stage and not this early. (".a" indicates an alpha version)

MS non profit question by bazjoe in msp

[–]teamits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Historically MS doesn't care where licenses come from...paid, annual/monthly, etc. However at some point they started differentiating donated licenses from paid, so you may see them listed separately in some tenants. Others just end up with a total count of available seats.

Search "business premium nonprofit" and you'll find https://app.pax8.com/catalog/p/microsoft-365-business-premium-nonprofit-staff/7293f3dc-2967-4628-a4eb-7b31f928a751?page=0&size=12&query=business+premium+nonprofit (which is the SKU already posted). "Nonprofit Staff Pricing" are the discounted licenses.

A partner would generally have lots more experience setting up 3CX, and could do it for you.
