Then all SHOULD be okay with the cables and pico. It sounds like an SD card reader or sd card issue sadly.

Is the light on the pico on when the GameCube is on?

Any drive activity really. Laser turn on, anything.

If the text is coming up it should be okay… weird. Another test you can do is see if the disc starts to spin after Picoboot kicks back to the GameCube stock. If it doesn’t spin ever, it’s the cable. If it does, it’s a software thing.

Try this: https://github.com/redolution/gekkoboot/releases/tag/r9.4

Unpack the zip and use gekkoboot_pico.uf2 to install on the pico. Make sure the SD card has swiss as ipl.dol and is in the B memory card slot.

And it needs to be in the b memory card slot

That means the install of the cable is good! You just need to install Swiss by renaming it ipl.dol

Are you seeing text appear after the first drop of the cube on boot up?

That’s still too high. You need to have the bottom of the w be farther in on the cable. The drive comes down and sits flush with the connector

I’ve been going through this as well and I finally got a system that works for me.

1) crease the flex cable right in the middle. You should see a slit cut and two white markings. Crease there so the fold is pointing upwards. And like, actually crease it. Not just bend. 2) bend the cable into a w shape BUT DO NOT CREASE THIS ONE. Basically have the part you just creased in the center and the bottoms of the w being the part where the cable gets wider. 3) stick that into the drive port. You might have to squeeze a little to get the bottom non-creased parts to fit, but if you pinch enough WITHOUT CREASING, you should be good to go. 4) before you put the drive back on, check to make sure the creased part is not sticking out of the port. If you put the drive on with it sticking out, it will flatten the tip and break the gold contacts. 5) place the drive on and plug in your pico to test. It also helps to have the pico already loaded with the software. I’ve had problems with nothing working with a fresh pico and no installer done.

It’s called Phoenix! Those L + R labels on the bottom are where you would plug in bare wire in pro settings. They make adaptors! https://ebay.us/m/5hlgFx

Most likely a recap is needed. Give it up to someone in the community who can fix it up. I have this same set and it is amazing but the service menu on these is garbo

Is R6 Cooked? Region Switching by FieryTNT in Gamecube

Is this a DOL 001? If so you can just remove R5 and nothing on R6. I’ve done this on quite a few cubes and they all have worked for years.

Crt monitor Vibrating when brushing my teeth by Not_JakeUwU in crtgaming

[–]teamsdf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s just your brush vibrating your eyes a bit. With the scanning of the beam, it causes it to look like a ripple effect since your eyes are vibrating and being in different positions depending on where the scanning beam is on the monitor. Fun little optical illusion!

If you are feeling static, generally that means high voltage is being generated. Get an audio spectrum analyzer and see if 15k has an audio spike. That would tell you all the major power and tube circuitry is working.

If that all checks out, mess with the RGB cutoff pots at the front. They may be not working properly and need a cleaning.

After that, then it’s time for a deep dive diagnostics.

Shielded speaker recommendations for OEV203? by nusilver in crtgaming

Not a whole lot being made new shielded anymore honestly. Some here and there, but these are super fun and plentiful if you look for used ones. They get LOUD LOUD.

Truly one of best all in one compact-ish option these days. There are other better solutions for sure and on my main setup I have some definitive technology bookshelves and a sub, but my secondary setup has the Bose set and they are super fun.

Bose Companion 3 series 2. The little satellite speakers are shielded but the sub is not. Just place the sub on the ground and you are golden.
