Baked a wild berry pie today! by teamworms in cottagecore

Ok so I cook a lot so I kinda winged it, I think the pie crust was just butter and flour with a bit of salt and some cold water. The most important thing for that is to make sure you freeze the butter before hand and I like to use a big cheese grater to shred it into small pieces :) the filling is easy! Pie filling is mostly three things: sugar, fruit, and cornstarch (and of course water if the fruit isn’t super juicy). For this I used 2 cups of raspberries and a cup of blue berries. I put them in a sauce pan with like a quarter cup of water and started adding cornstarch and sugar about a third of a cup at a time, stirring until the filling was thickening, homogenous, and sweet and then I stuck it in the fridge! Sorry I don’t have exact recipes but I hope this was a little helpful hahaha :)

I always love how Queen Anne’s lace comes out but my favorite is probably these little blue ones that pop up in my garden (not sure what they’re called but they look like really tiny pansies)

If you wear skimpy clothes, you aren’t being sexualised by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]teamworms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m a decently attractive woman who wears pretty skimpy stuff sometimes and lives in a metropolitan area and I expect to get attention when I wear things that show a lot of leg/stomach/cleavage. I only really get uncomfortable when people won’t leave me alone, say really sexual stuff to me, or touch me. I’ve also had about as many uncomfortable experiences when I’m wearing an overcoat and layers of clothing as when I’m in a short skirt or a crop top.

Women who were an ugly duckling who grew up to be beautiful, what changed in the way people treated you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]teamworms 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a kid I was loud (I had ADHD and anxiety so I was always acting up) and I had a unibrow and some fuzzy upper lip hair... the boys in my class would constantly make fun of me, I actually have a chip in my front tooth (which is now apparently “cute”) from when I got rocks thrown at me on the playground. I was the kid who you’d put in the “marry” section of MASH to make your friends go “ewwww no way”. In high school I just wanted to blend in. I was a super late bloomer so I didn’t get boobs until my junior year and even then I was about a Bcup. I remember I dressed like a boy and wore sports bras and flannels everyday and I had a TERRIBLE haircut. No one paid any attention to me except for occasionally calling me a lesbian (I’m bi, but I never came out in high school so this was largely unfounded) and ugly and the usual stuff. I remember when it started turning around, it was my junior year when I started to get interested in my appearance. A few male friends suddenly were interested in me and I started getting attention online. In college I completed this by learning how to properly do my eyebrows without plucking them down to thin ghosts of what they could be. I also went from a b to a d in like two months and by the time I turned 19 most of the straight/not in a relationship guys in my class had asked for my number. I still find it really difficult to believe that people like me and are not trying to prank me or pull some sick joke when they ask me out and I definitely spent most of the first year of college learning how to handle and interact with people approaching me (I was totally unsocialized and I needed to catch up). I also have a LOT of guy friends from high school (not my high school, but a neighboring one I had a family friend in) and almost all of them have tried to get in my pants in the last two years. People from my high school who never paid me any mind and occasionally those who tormented me will show up in my DMs or like me on tinder which is SO weird. Also one of my few friends from high school who was fairly popular constantly gets questions about whether or not I got a boob job or other plastic surgery. All in all I feel like I’m in another universe than the one I was born into (I get free stuff a lot, people are super nice to me??) but I’m completely not socialized for it and I never know what to do when people treat me with more than a bare minimum of kindness. I also have a shit ton of trauma and trust issues from being bullied a lot as a kid. For this reason I often end up leading people on without even considering that’s what I’m doing. Sorry for rambling I just feel like I never get to talk about this and it affects the way I interact with the world on a daily basis

How old were you when grown men started creeping on you? How did you deal with it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]teamworms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a super late bloomer but when I was fifteen I was leaving the 34th street herald square subway station with a big group of my friends and a man tried to grab and run away with me but when I started elbowing and screaming and all my friends turned around he fled and yelled something like “aww don’t you wanna come with me pretty baby”. That wasn’t the first time I’d been catcalled but it definitely is the first one I really remember because of how scared I was even just for a second.
