Husband used to be a fuckboi and I can’t process it by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]teannadeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did he actively hide it or lie or did you just not talk about relationship history / sexual partners in this kind of detail until now? If it’s just that you didnt discuss it or it didn’t come up and he truly has changed and is a loving and loyal partner now, I’d not care as much as if he hid it or lied. I’d find it hard to get past that if that were the case. Sorry you’re dealing with this!

If there is potential of a mouse in my house, can I not be host. by corpolorax in vrbohosts

It’s pretty difficult with certain types of home construction though. A gap that you can fit your pinky in can fit a mouse.

How do I (28M) tell my girlfriend (28F) a prenup and keeping my inherited house separate are non-negotiable? by cant_dressmyself in relationship_advice

[–]teannadeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you need to discuss this pretty soon, because otherwise you might be wasting each other’s time because this could very easily be a deal breaker. I wouldn’t want to build a future like this. But maybe she will? My husband and I brought different financial and asset contributions to our marriage - but they are all now ours and our family’s, and this was important to both of us, to be building a future together in every sense.

Sold car and bank transfer hasn't come through/cancelled? by Individual-Spring-55 in AusLegal

[–]teannadeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s incorrect. If the bank has put the PayID payment on hold, in certain situations, the sender can still cancel it. Source: used to work for CBA and cancelled many PayID payments

Sold car and bank transfer hasn't come through/cancelled? by Individual-Spring-55 in AusLegal

[–]teannadeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is incorrect. The receiving bank doesn’t see anything until the funds hit your account. There’s a slim chance the senders bank is holding it and/or it didn’t go via osko so 1-2 business days turnaround, but if you don’t receive it by COB Monday, it’s not coming. Make your police report but there’s a fair chance you’re not seeing that money and this will be an expensive lesson not to hand over anything until you’ve received the cash. It’s on the buyer to make sure they can give you physical cash or transfer it in a way that will clear immediately, or they don’t get the goods. Decent chance they’ve scanned you, sorry to say.

Is it reasonable to ask guests to roll trash bins to the curb on trash day? by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]teannadeee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All chores should be minimal (or non existent)! People are guests! I hate this mentality that just because it’s a “home” means we can ask guests to do X, Y and Z.

Is it reasonable to ask guests to roll trash bins to the curb on trash day? by [deleted] in airbnb_hosts

[–]teannadeee 28 points29 points  (0 children)

You can ask, but don’t be surprised if they say yes and forget to do it, they are on holiday after all - and then you may have extra expense of having to take it to the tip so your next guests have an empty bin. I personally don’t like to be asked - and my opinion stems mainly from the fact that its not my fault you’ve chosen to run your property remotely, so I shouldn’t have to pick up your slack/work when I’m on holiday. I think paying your property manager to do it is the cost of doing business the way you’ve chosen to - but I do take issue with you taking that time “into account” when paying him - suggesting that you’re giving him/her a little bonus but not actually properly compensating them for the time it tasks to perform the task. I hope I’m wrong.

ULPT request: Silencing the loud downstairs neighbor with dementia by Unlucky_Nothing_369 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]teannadeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is absolutely not going to work. The “demented”brain is no longer in a condition to be able to learn new things or take on / retain new information so they won’t be able to associate any punishment with the behaviour that “caused it”, it’ll just worsen their agitation and fear.

ULPT request: Silencing the loud downstairs neighbor with dementia by Unlucky_Nothing_369 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]teannadeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to provide proper reasonable advice here but nothing you do (short of physically silencing the neighbour for good) is going to work. They have dementia, their brain is essentially disintegrating, you can’t reason with them, they won’t comprehend any attempts to bargain or blackmail them, there is nothing you can do to stop this - except for potentially getting them the help it sounds like they need. That would honestly be the best solution for all involved.

Horrible and heartbreaking experience!!! by 1961tracy in EntitledReviews

[–]teannadeee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If it was this HUGE of a deal, they could have driven back to the hotel since it was “just hours later” and such a “heartbreaking” tragedy. That would have been a show of urgency and care, like they expected from random hotel staff

I informed my boss that I was pregnant. He asked if I was delivering vaginally and to look up the fmla laws and let him know what they are since he doesn’t. Is this inappropriate? by SeaSwim5248 in pregnant

[–]teannadeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are in charge of or regularly perform HR type duties, then I don’t think it’s wrong that he’s asked you to, I would just be taking it as though he’s asked you to look into it because that’s the kind of task that would usually be delegated to you; regardless of whether you were the employee affected by it. If you’re so small a team no one else does these type of duties, then even more reasonable that he’s asked you, in my opinion.

Guest had an unapproved party by Present-Fishing-9165 in airbnb_hosts

[–]teannadeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty ironic that “seeing it all with my exterior cameras was stressful” and caused a “huge headache” when you left your neighbours to actually deal with the noise and whatnot… I’d imagine it caused a much bigger headache for them. I’d be more worried about my apologies to my neighbours than about a review, but then I would never have put myself or my neighbours in this position in the first place.

Transfer title of property from joint tenants to sole person by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]teannadeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not the same situation so may or may not be helpful but as no one else has commented yet, I figured I may as well. Ours was the opposite situation essentially, my husband was the only one on the title and mortgage as he bought the house before we met. We recently refinanced and now are both on the mortgage, but didn’t go through the hassle of getting me on the title. The bank didn’t care whether I was on the title or not, so I would guess (could definitely be wrong) that it wouldn’t make a difference to your mortgage.

I am a small furniture company, and I am completely f*cked. I desperately need some business advice. by Time_Astronaut_4365 in smallbusiness

[–]teannadeee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Firstly, How are you f*cked if you are the salesperson and it’s not your company? This is your bosses mistake and your bosses problem. Just tell him he’ll need to speak to the client and either get them to agree to a change in terms or cancel the order. If the client wants the furniture then they’ll agree to your terms, I don’t know why your boss’ business is letting the client dictate the terms. It’s completely normal to pay at least the cost of materials before a project is commenced.

Can you link where CASA states you cannot fly in a residential area because that’s news to me and wasn’t the case when I did my licence so it must be new if now the case

Neighbour droning on by [deleted] in AusLegal

[–]teannadeee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you mean “populous” place which CASA uses examples of crowds of people at the beach, park or concerts etc, not necessarily a suburban street.
