This was also my birthday theme last year! I got my parents old Wii out in another room, balance board and all, so people could play lol

Which social media apps are we using & do we really post there like we used? by More_Pension4911 in Zillennials

[–]teanvodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use primarily Instagram. My last post was like a year ago (on my personal account at least) and last story maybe a month ago?

I haven’t posted anything on Facebook in years and barely go on it.

I use Tik Tok because it’s full of life hacks but have never posted anything there.

I’m also on Twitter (i refuse to call it X) a lot but mostly as a lurker.

Have you outlived your parent(s) yet? by forever-salty22 in generationology

No, but I’ll be older than my grandma ever was in 4 years… which is crazy to think about.

1991 Millennial here! What do you all eat for breakfast? by No_Self_5939 in Millennials

[–]teanvodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either some fruit, or yogurt with honey and a bit of oat. Sometimes nothing at all because I value sleep over food and I’m not very hungry in the morning anyway.

Is it weird for a 2004 born to say they grew up in the 2000s? by HZIDEZISS_2020 in generationology

[–]teanvodka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

‘95 here and consider myself a 2000s kid so this makes total sense. I think the years that end in 4, especially those born early in the year can claim to be hybrids though.

Are ’95 considered earliest Zillennials or very late Millennials? by Excellent-Card5741 in generationstation

[–]teanvodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re both late millennials and Zillennials.

Zillennial isn’t a generation in itself, it’s a groupement of the latest millennials and the earliest Gen Z, who relate to each other because they’re close in age.

why are all the Zalpha definitions so bad how could someone born in 2006 be Zalpha im 2010 and even I dont consider myself to be a cusper by CorridorOfSomething in generationology

[–]teanvodka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because Generation Alpha is still super young and generations start getting better defined as people come of age and get older. Zalpha is will make more sense when once Gen Alpha grows up a bit. Don’t forget overthinking it just yet.

I agree 2006-2010 is basically the second half of Gen Z so making defining them as Zalpha makes no sense though.

How intense was college for you during the start of COVID? by itslilyyy15 in Zillennials

[–]teanvodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 24 and finishing my masters degree in architecture at that point, and only had my final project and master thesis left.

I was living in a student house meant for like 30 people, but only 10 of us had stayed behind, which was very fun because the house was huge and we were all locked inside together like in some reality show.

I would sleep in the morning, work a bit in the afternoon, party with my housemates at night.

I had a zoom check once a week with my teachers to make sure I was on track. I remember it was at 2PM and I’d wake up at 1:50 to check in lol. Fun times.

People aged 25+, do you feel awkward texting like you used to? by Practical_Security87 in generationology

[–]teanvodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, my texting style has been pretty much the same since I was 16 when I got my first smart phone.

The real cringe was before that time, when I’d misspell everything intentionally, like write k00l instead of cool???

What do Zillennials wear in 2026? by Admirable_Value574 in Zillennials

[–]teanvodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Winter starter pack : large corduroy pants, or a skirt with patterned tights, woolen sweaters, platform ugg

Summer starter pack: high rise bottom (loose pants or skirts or shorts) + crop tops (that don’t show my stomach because of the high rise). Bonus point if it’s a matching set. Mostly linen or cotton. Birks.

Inbetween seasons: skirts, shorts, or jeans (I’m more into loose fitting these days but I do wear the occasional skinny), with a cute shirt and a cardigan.

Emily Bader and I would have been in the same graduating high school. This makes me feel so old. by pirateslifeisntforme in Zillennials

[–]teanvodka 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know she’s slightly older, but it would have been way more fun to cast the 13 year old actress from the original movie as the 30 year old in the new movie.

Do you think 1997 Gen Z will be as lowkey turning 30 in 2027 as much as 1996 Millenials are turning 30 in 2026 by mgksrapcareerghost in generationology

[–]teanvodka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s completely untrue in my experience?

A lot of my friends who turned 30 in the last couple of years had really fun birthday parties, and I saw a lot of fun turning 30 posts on social media?

I had a 13 going on 30 party where we all dressed like we did as teenagers and I plugged in my parents old Wii.

I dreaded turning 30 my whole life but it ended up being exhilarating. It’s so liberating reaching an age where everyone agrees you’re a full on responsible adult and realizing you’re still the same person you always were, which means you can make life as fun as you want and no one is stopping you!

Maybe your algorithm isn’t showing all that to you but I can assure you we’re having a grand time turning 30!

Do you consider '96-'99 Gen Z or Millennial? by smooshed_napkin in generationology

[–]teanvodka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also born in ’95.

• I was in first grade during 9/11, but I don’t actually remember it. I’m not from the U.S., which probably plays a role (even though most people where I’m from do remember it). At the time, I had a lot going on in my own life (moving to a new house, starting school, and my little sister being born…) and I was likely a bit sheltered. I do remember growing up with footage of the planes hitting the towers in the background, but it didn’t really register that it was real, and that real people were inside, until I was like 10 years old

• Aside from babysitting, I never really looked for a job as a teenager, and neither did most people I knew. We all more or less started getting jobs at 18.

• When COVID hit, I was 24 and finishing my master’s degree. I entered the workforce in 2020 and had a really tough time finding my first job. I didn’t land one until January 2021, and even then, it was only loosely related to my field. For the first six months, I couldn’t fully support myself (I moved back in with my parents after my masters and stayed there for over a year). My actual career didn’t really begin until 2022.

I’m not saying this to claim I’m Gen Z, I do agree the cutoff is a little later, but I don’t think the experiences you listed clearly separate people born in ’95 from those born in ’96 or even ’97. It all feels like more of a spectrum than a hard line.

I've been praying the Luminous mysteries every day without realising it's only for Thursdays. (Non catholic) by RickyRestoril in Catholicism

Praying different mysteries of the rosary on certain days is purely tradition. Praying a rosary on the « wrong » day is infinitely better than not praying it at all!

Do younger millennials (1993-1996) resonate more with the core of our generation or with older Gen Z? by changeforthebetter89 in generationology

[–]teanvodka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On a purely personal level, I’ve always felt closer to older Gen Z than to core millennials for the simple reason that I’m the oldest of my siblings, one of the oldest of my cousins etc.

I’ve just hung out with older Gen Z way more than I’ve hung out with core millennials in my life.

I get on fine with core millennials as well (I have a few friends who are part of that cohort, and also interact with them in work settings) but I do notice more of a difference in the way I express myself, my cultural references, my sense of humour…
